In Solomon Burke’s 1986 version of When a Man Loves a Woman, he sings “When a man loves a woman, he should make that sacrifice. Promise he got to give her his life.” A man last week in Hong Kong showed that when a man loves a park bench, he can almost lose his genitals.

Police reported that they received a call in the middle of the night from a man who was calling from LanTian Park. Xing, 41, decided to have sex with a steel, park bench but panicked after he could not remove his penis from one of the bench’s holes.

When policed arrived, they found Xing to be lying face down with his penis stuck in the hole because it was too swollen to take out. Doctors arrived soon after and drew blood from Xing’s member in a failed attempt to decrease the swelling. They were left with no choice but to cut the entire bench and take it along with Xing to the hospital.

The doctors needed four hours to separate Xing and the bench. Afterwards, they said an hour longer and  they would have had to dismember Xing’s penis due to the rapid swelling.
