Food: The All-Natural Sex Toy
By: Sexherald Staff

Food is the way to someone’s heart but can also be the way into someone’s pants. We use food for more than nourishment needed to live; we also use it to satisfy our sexual appetites. In the art of seduction, tracing a lover’s mouth with a strawberry or licking whipped cream off one another’s body is classic foreplay using food to entice and excite each other. We eat other foods as aphrodisiacs such as oysters and chocolate to stimulate the sexual senses. Others find excitement in having food and syrups covering their body and smeared across him or her.

Uses of food are very flexible and your imagination is the limits, traditional uses of food in sex include candlelight dinners as a prelude to a romantic evening. Other common uses of food to romance and arouse is eating fruit, frosting or syrup off one another or take a piece of food from your lover’s mouth using just your lips. Not so traditional erotic uses of food include sploshing, which is a subdivision of wet and messy fetishism. While wet and messy may be for some, others prefer to be more intimate with food such as cucumbers and melons. There are various food fetishes and uses for foods in fetishes however starting with more conventional uses, it is easy to understand how something simple can branch out into something more.

A candlelit dinner sets the ambiance to romance and seduce a lover. Feeding a partner has always been seen as a romantic gesture from novels to movies. This is not to be confused with feederism, nobody is encouraged to change his or her physical appearance and this is a purely sensual act with the eroticism coming from tasty morsels of temptations and what they suggest. The perfect meal can be a turn on; some prefer to serve a plate of delicious aphrodisiacs such as oysters, asparagus and for dessert chocolate and strawberries. While aphrodisiacs are meant to increase the libido, desert does not necessarily have to be something containing aphrodisiac properties. Feeding one another over desert can be sensuous and create the perfect mood for a sexual interlude. Dessert can be your lover, which can be more sexually enhancing than consuming an oyster. Sexually suggestive food is capable of being as arousing especially if you and your lover intend on being creative.

Sexually suggestive foods are those that are phallic shaped or can emulate the appearance and feeling of a vagina. For those who are into a more advanced food is introduced into the bedroom and becomes involved in sexual acts. Some may use a cucumber to stimulate a partner in place of a penis or dildo while others find it more sensuous to cover his or her partner in whipped cream and fruits and eat it off his or her body only using your mouth. Covering one’s body with sushi has also become popular as sexually seductive uses for food as seen in various television shows, films and most recently in the new Sex and the City movie. Food play is not new to mainstream, it became popular the 1980s movie 9 ½ Weeks in which the two characters partake in an erotic game of the senses by feeding a lover while she keeps her eyes closed. The odd erotic scene leads to pouring honey and spraying seltzer all over one of the characters and turns into what is now known as the fetish of spolishing.

Some people avoid spilling drinks and dropping food on their clothes while sploshers deliberately cover themselves naked or fully clothed in various foods and substances. A part of the wet and messy fetish, sploshing is more than just an erotic journey of the senses; it is a fun and painless fetish and can be equated to the enjoyment of a food fight without being reprimanded. Do not let the name fool you, because spolshing is a fetish, does not mean it is not seen often in the sexual mainstream. For example, when a stripper or performer covers herself in chocolate syrup it is erotic to those watching. The syrup dripping down and off her body excites the audience much like the excitement sploshers experience watching and participating in their fetish. Other familiar and popular versions of Sploshing are mud and jello wrestling.

Bill Shipton, creator of Splosh! Magazine, coined the term sploshing when he created the publication that caters to all things wet and messy. As seen in Splosh!, foods that are commonly used to smear and cover the body are syrups, cake, pudding and pie. Though these foods are popular for their consistency, others prefer things like paint and goo, which was popularized on the children’s television show Double Dare in the 1980s. Gunge, British slang for slime, is a popular form of WAM commonly found on television game shows.

Though this is a fun and simple fetish and everything used in it is bought in your local grocery store, there are some precautions to be aware of. As with all fetishes it is important to speak with your partner about what is allowed, some people have food allergies and others do not want to have their skin stained from certain dyes in food. Since food will be used in sensitive areas, it is important to remember that certain foods can cause infections. For example, foods that contain yeast may upset vaginal pH and cause a yeast infection and soft foods may become lost within the vaginal canal or anus and cause a bacterial infection. When inserting foods into any orifice you want to make sure it is a solid, such as a cucumber and a condom is placed over it especially if sharing it with a partner. When creating a vaginal type opening in fruits, it is important to ensure the hole cut into the fruit is large enough to accommodate a fully erect penis. If using a melon and the hole is not large enough, the melon may become stuck and will function similar to a cock ring without a quick release. If this occurs, it is not recommended to try to cut the melon off; the penis will have to be semi-flaccid to flaccid before removing it.

When we are younger, we are taught not to play with our food no matter how fun sculpting those mashed potatoes snowmen are, smashing jello through our fingers and throwing carrots and may be. Even the simplest things such as covering someone with whipped cream, feeding a lover strawberries or smearing a cupcake full of frosting on someone can bring the fun back into eroticism. The key to letting go with this fetish is to realize it is only a taboo if you label it that way and do not think of it as a mess to be cleaned up later, think of your lover as a canvas and the food your paint.
