Did You Know...?
Birth-control pills reduce the chance of ovarian cancers, particularly when a woman uses them for three years or more. Scientists say, after numerous studies have been conducted, that women who ovulate throughout their lifetime with few children and have not taken birth control have a higher risk of ovarian cancer. They postulate women who take birth control for an extended period of time have slimmer chances of contracting the disease because they don’t undergo unnecessary ovulation. Furthermore, women who have the tendency to get breast cancer also increase their chances of getting ovarian cancer. The link to birth control and decreased chances of getting breast cancer has not been verified yet.
