I am an admitted anal prude. Don't get me wrong - I love to have my asshole played with and I’m especially into getting down and dirty with others asses. When it comes to all out penetration, however, to say I am apprehensive is an understatement. That's exactly why when I was asked to review Adam & Eve's Lidocaine containing Anal Lubricant I was super happy. And so was my partner.
We set out for our adventures in anal land with a fair amount of foreplay. When my partner prepared to penetrate my asshole, we busted out the small well-seamed black tube, grabbed a towel for easy clean-up and set down to getting things going. As a precursor to the actual insertion, I am pretty big on being teased around the rim and the more lube, the better.
We opened the tube, turned it upside down to dispense a little onto my little hole and quickly scurried to stop the liquid from emptying it self completely out onto my body. This stuff is out-of-control thin. Its aqueous base is great in that it's not super duper sticky, but the lube itself dispenses at the rate of an open faucet. I am not totally sure if it's just the thinness of the lube or if the over-sized dispensing hole has something to do with it, but I was covered in lube – cold lube at that, and it really threw our experience off kilter.
While I realize all forms of anal sex should be performed with a condom, my partner and I are in a committed relationship and have both undergone extensive testing. We do not use condoms – even in the case of anal. That being the case, a lube that provides a desensitizing effect should really be marketed with the explicit direction to use with a condom. I guess common sense should’ve told us that if it was going to numb my ass, it would also numb other body parts, but we overlooked this and limpness ensued within minutes. Needless to say, the remaining portion of our anal date non-existant.
In the end, I was left with a semi-sticky, overly lubed, and nearly numbed asshole. The numbing agent certainly did its job successfully, but the overall experience of using the lube made me quickly lose interest in being penetrated at that point, painful of not. I would probably try this lubricant again simply for the fact that it does remove a bit of the pain factor involved with getting fucked in the ass. Next time, though, it'll be with a non-human phallus – and a cautious dispension
