The Thinking Woman's Guide to Pleasuring a Man
Sexherald Staff
Lest men everywhere work themselves into a frenzy over Dr. Ian Kerner’s She Comes First (which will in turn lead to much pouting and whining over how female empowerment is turning women everywhere into ferocious she-beasts who eat them alive and then leave them cold), I should bring your attention to his follow-up manual—He Comes Next.
While She Comes First guided and enlightened men in the magical ways of cunnilingus (for which me and my clit are eternally grateful), He Comes Next takes a more holistic approach.
The first half of Kerner’s book focuses solely on male anatomy, from both a physiological and psychological standpoint. While this may sound dry to some, the author’s cross-sections of male genitalia and allusions to “sexual sweet spots” are so much more intriguing than those wasted hours spent in high school sex ed classes. And his discussions of male desire and sexual response, and tips on how to tickle the male libido before you even reach the bedroom, made me feel like a female Luke Skywalker, toiling under the tutelage of a much more articulate Yoda.
When I first ordered my fiancé to purchase (and read, of course) She Comes First, he actually did! He then proceeded to show me what he had learned while we were staying in a swanky hotel suite in Montreal. He’s a marvelous student. So as I was reading through Part I of He Comes Next, becoming more and more absorbed in the ways of the male mind, I started to become impatient, eager as all heck to put this background info to use and repay my studious beau. Fortunately, the entire second half of the book is filled with techniques on both “foreplay” and “coreplay,” taking care to disavow the notion that foreplay always has to lead to intercourse (they say there’s more than one way to skin a cat, and I know for a fact that there’s more than one way to make my man breathe all heavy and such).
Perhaps the most intriguing image in this book is that of the White Tigress, “the Chinese term for a woman who practices disciplined sexual practices for the purpose of fostering her own health, youthfulness, and rejuvenation.” Kerner urges his female readers to become the White Tigress, practicing boldness in seduction...gaining pleasure from her man’s pleasure...becoming the ultimate sex kitten.
After some examples of exhibitionism-induced foreplay, and very detailed, step-by-step instructions on pleasuring a man with hand, mouth, and/or cunt, I’m more than ready to meow my way into my man’s pants. Without a doubt, practicing the play-by-plays described in Kerner’s two books simultaneously leaves the both of us purring for more.
