There are so many euphemisms for “sex” in the English language.
Look it up in any modern-day thesaurus and you’ll get words like, “coitus,” “intercourse,” “copulation,” “consummation,” “fornication” and
it goes on. Sex is either a very popular concept or someone went through a
lot of trouble thinking of new terms to avoid saying the actual word. So, imagine
the horror a phrase depicting someone in the “coitus” profession
would elicit.
Sex workers exist despite of laws that attempt to rule them out. Check any
local yellow pages and you’ll see ads for escorts and the like. About
99% of the US prohibits prostitution save Nevada, in which 10 out of 17 counties
have legalized brothels. That brings us to the city of Reno to a little place
called the Kit Kat Ranch. Therein reside a bevy of women who call themselves
sex workers.
SexHerald spoke with the lively spokesmodel of Kit Kat. Rebecca Love shared
about her responsibilities at the Ranch as well as a few anecdotes that occurred
while on the job, which weren’t all that different from stories one hears
about a married couple in bed behind closed doors. When it comes down to it,
this free spirit earns a more honest living than, say, a gunrunner or credit
card companies.

SEXHERALD:
Does your family know what you do?
Rebecca Love: Absolutely.
SH: What do they think about
it?
Love:
They don’t. They’re like, ‘You pay your own bills, you have
your own life.’
SH: Where are you currently
situated?
Love: I live in California,
the Los Angeles area.
SH: So, I take it you don’t
actually live on the Ranch?
Love: Only when I’m there,
I live there. As in, it’s a permanent hotel
residence. When I’m there, I’m on lock-down and I stay there because
my purpose is to work.
SH: When you reside at Kit Kat,
how long are you usually there?
Love: I usually take a week
every month to go out there to entertain my fans and regulars and then I come
back here. Actually, I’m never home. I travel so much so I take one week
out of the month.
SH: What is a day like at the
Ranch?
Love: I start my day off by
waking up, by getting ready, put on my makeup, blah, blah, blah. Go out to
the floor, greet everybody that’s out there and I sit in the waiting
room. A lot of my bookings are from the Internet, so I already know when my
appointment is going to show up. I just go out to the floor because being the
spokesmodel of Kit Kat I have to greet and welcome and say, ‘Hey.’ So
anyway, I’m on the floor forever and then at the end of the night, I
take off all my makeup, crawl into bed, snuggle up with a good movie or book
and wait for the next day. And it starts all over again. I wish it was exciting,
and sometimes it is, but it’s a sit-and-wait game.
SH: How long have you worked
at the Ranch?
Love: Two years now.
SH: Among your regulars, were
there any that have been with you for the duration of the time you’re
at Kit Kat?
Love:Yes, some of them have been around forever, beyond two years. Just because I
worked at a brothel for two years doesn’t mean that I wasn’t doing
anything beyond that. Just from now on I stick with the brothel and my clients
from all over the US fly in to Reno to see me.
SH: How many regulars do you
have?
Love: I don’t know. That’s
like asking me how many people I’ve slept with. I have no clue.
SH: In a recent press release,
it said you were a spokesmodel. What does that actually mean?
Love: It used to be someone
else. She left Kit Kat and now I got upgraded.
SH:Which means?
Love: Well, it just means that
now I’m one of the VIP girls. Not that I wasn’t before, but now
I have my own luxury room.
SH: I’ve seen the rooms
at Kit Kat. They’re pretty posh.
Love: Yeah, those are the VIP
rooms. They’re very posh.
SH: They’re also very
red. It’s perpetually Valentine’s Day. So, why did you decide to
be a sex worker?
Love: I’m also a porn
star. I already make adult films, so what’s the difference? I’m
already having sex for money. To me, there’s no difference. Wait, there’s
a condom. Ah, there’s the difference.
SH: How long have you
What do you mean by that?
been married?
Love: When I’m entertaining
clients, its safe sex all the way. When you’re doing porn, there’s
not always a condom.
SH: What are some studios you
made films with?
Love: Vivid, Wicked, Hustler,
Playboy TV to name a few.
SH: Were you in any mainstream
films?
Love: Yeah, but they’re
on cable, like any Showtime movie because I shot with Vivid. They shoot soft
and hard at the same time. So whatever you see on Showtime After Dark would
be some of it. You know, where the plot is meaningless?
SH: How do you divide your schedule
between making films and visiting Kit Kat?
Love: It’s actually fluid.
When there’s nothing on my schedule I go, ‘Oh,
Kit Kat.’ When that week is blank, I just put Kit Kat in there. That’s
all.
SH: Describe some of the clientele
you regularly entertain. Are they mostly men, women or both?
Love: I prefer men over 35.
Most of them are. I’m better with the older ones because they appreciate
a woman and they know how to spoil me. They’re average Joe’s. The
people who see me and can afford my rate are usually like CEOs, executives,
financially stable who can indulge in the porn-star rate to get the VIP service.
It’s the same clientele as whoever walks into a strip club. Some people
go to the Champagne Room, some people sit out on the floor. It’s the
same concept, except we have one hell of a Champagne Room. Most of mine are
over 35. How do you describe them? They’re just regular men you would
see at the grocery store. They come in all shapes and sizes.
SH: Who happen to have a lot
of money.
Love: And some people don’t.
Some people just want to splurge their annual ‘Happy Birthday to Me’ kind
of thing.
SH: Do you have any regulars
who are under 35?
Love: Yeah, I have a couple.
Not too many, but I have a few. Don’t get me wrong; I enjoy them. I’m
not stereotyping the average male saying, ‘Under 35, no way.’ I
should treat each one as an individual, but most of my clientele are over 35
and so are my repeats.
SH: What was the oldest client
you had?
Love: Honey, let me tell you
this story. He had to be in his nineties. It took us about an hour to get to
the room. When we finally got to the room – that little old man – he
was probably as good as an 18-year-old. It was probably an hour and a half.
When he finally orgasmed, he pretends to keel over, just done. He passed out.
I’m like, ‘Oh no, honey, honey.’ He wasn’t moving.
Then he just goes, ‘Boo!’ He scared the shit out of me. And then
the whole time in my head I’m going, ‘Damn it, my fucking PR just
went!’ No, but it was so funny. It scared the shit out of me; I didn’t
know what to do. I’m like, ‘How do you explain this to 911?’
SH: So, what exactly are your
rates?
Love: I’m in the four
digits. It’s like you can’t talk about your
rates because it’s illegal and you have to negotiate prices. But, I can
tell you that I’m in the four digits per hour.
SH: And how does one reach the
four-digit rate?
Love:
Most people know, even if you’re only looking for an escort on the Internet,
that porn stars are around $1,000 – $1,500 an hour anyway. So, most people
already know porn-star rates. It’s just your credits. It doesn’t
matter what you look like, just what you got behind you. What happens is you
get repeats by your customer service. Some people just like one-timers, I prefer
regulars. It all depends on your customer service and they realize, ‘Hey,
yeah, you’re worth it. You cater.’
SH: How long does the night
usually last for you?
Love: Most of my average time
has been about an hour. That’s my minimum. Its
like, ‘You’ve gotta get at least an hour.’
SH: Are your regulars the wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am
kind or are they the wine-and-dine ladies’ man type?
Love: Well you see, with my
clientele, I get all their drinks for them because they don’t need to
be paying for drinks; they need to be enjoying me. So, I want to cater to them.
I get them a bottle of champagne or wine or whatever they’re drinking.
Not that I get them drunk to take advantage of them, but I want to cater to
them. If they’re going to pay for first class then they’re going
to get first class. And last I checked drinks were included. But, that’s
not with everyone.
SH:
So these men: Do they bring fantasies with them? Do you do any role playing
with them?
Love: Absolutely. It’s
whatever they want. Whatever their fantasies are, within reason, I will cater
to. There are certain things I can’t do.
SH: What are some things you
won’t do?
Love: I’m not an anal
type of person. I can’t cater to that. And if they want bizarre things
that will hurt them then hell no. I’m more of a girlfriend experience.
SH: Because these men are looking
to be your regulars and are looking to you for a girlfriend, is it safe to
assume that they’re all single, lonely and middle-aged?
Love: I wish I can say that.
Most of them, I want to say 80%, are married. The ones that are single work
too much to meet someone and they don’t want to sit there to seduce somebody
at the bar. They’d rather be with me and don’t have to feed me
in the morning or call me or I’m not gonna get jealous. I’m cheaper
than a wife. Most of them have a woman. They just want a good time. And I’m
not looking for a husband. I’m just looking for a good time, too.
SH: You never want to get married
and settle down?
Love:It’s not my concern, I never really thought about it. I work so much that
I don’t even think about dating. I’m dating already in the brothel.
I’m getting my sex and I’m getting catered and spoiled and I don’t
think about it, really. I’m a workaholic. It might catch up with me later,
but right now I’m enjoying it.
SH: How much longer do you think you’ll be actively
involved with the adult industry?
Love: The brothel and on-camera probably ‘til I’m
35 and then I’ll probably do something behind the scenes.
SH: You mean like what Jenna and Tera did – starting
their own clubs and agencies?
Love: Yes, that’s exactly it. Just take my face behind.
SH: Would you ever consider producing or directing an adult
film?
Love: No. I do not want to tell people what to do. But, I
don’t mind using my name towards an investor or owning a strip club or
stuff like that; stuff I enjoy. The managing of new people that come on the
scene – I’m not really keen on directing.
SH: One last question before we part: Are you a natural redhead?
Love: Right out of the box. What happens was that there were
so many blondes and brunettes in the industry, I took the middle ground. Redder
is better. I’m naturally a brunette. Once the pants come off you’ll
notice I’m a brunette. SpokesmodelofKitKatRanch
