Ingredients:
Zygo (energy vodka)
Red Bull
The name about says it all. Maybe only “The Farley” would be more fitting just because it’s more modern. By now, everyone’s had the typical Vodka-Red Bull concoction. Here is a version worth drinking.
Zygo seems as if it’s designed to reinvent this cocktail. Who needs Red Bull when all of the energy supplements (Taurine and Guarana, for example) are already in the vodka? The uppity buzz you receive from drinking Zygo straight is sufficient for most purposes. But, mixing with Red Bull is not a bad idea if your purpose is waking up at 5 a.m. in an airport terminal somewhere in the Midwest.
I generally like to explore pros and cons, but I really only see pros here. Zygo is on the sweeter side. It’s not incredibly viscous or something that will lead to a brutal hangover. But, it works as a perfect complement to Red Bull’s bitter aftertaste and tight carbonation.
You want to talk about a burst of energy? This might be the only legal way to get this kind of bang for your buck. It’s perfect for a quick start to a slow night. We’ve all been there: You want to go out and drink, but you’re having a hard time getting started. One (maybe four) of these babies and you’ll be ready to go—anywhere!
I would advise against drinking too many of these. But let’s be honest, if you drink too much of anything you know what you’re in for. If you’re looking to go the distance, this is a smarter way to get there.
