In
a country with thousands of restaurants, representing every cuisine
from Afghan to Zimbabwean, how do chains like T.G.I.Fridays stay
in business? The answer, of course, is: value and consistency. Dinner
at Fridays might not be haute cuisine, but it's cheap, it's unlikely
to kill you, and there's a lot of it. So it is with silverstonevideo.com.
This is porn by the pound: you're probably not going to remember
any of it the day after you watch it, and it's rarely better than
average, but damn there's a lot of it.
Primarily,
Silverstone offers digitized versions of four of Legend Video's
pro-am anthology series: Pick-Up Lines, Peeping Tom, Pickup Girls
and Latin Eye-Candy. What's the difference? Well, not much: the
“Peeping Tom” videos nominally feature a guy creeping
around with a video camera, and the “Latin Eye-Candy”
videos are mostly shot in Brazil. Otherwise, almost all of the scenes
follow the same pattern: fade up onto a girl (or two) playing with
herself, enter the boy(s), lick, suck, fuck, anal, facial, fade
out, rinse, repeat – all to a soundtrack of misappropriated
new-age relaxation loops.
None of this is terribly bad: the girls are uniformly cute, the
guys reliably hard. Nobody looks like they're having a bad time,
and the camera stays in focus and pointed at the action. But of
course, none of it is terribly good either: a lot of the girls look
bored, there's no talking besides an occasional “stick it
in my ass,” and a lot of the time you can't even hear the
moaning over the bad music.
But
critiquing any of these videos based on camerawork is beside the
point: this site is competing with quantity, not quality, and they
give you a lot of porn for your dollar. Right now there's around
a hundred fifteen-minute video clips, plus thirty galleries of (non-exclusive)
photos, and new videos are added weekly. Plus, membership gets you
free access to six other feature sites with about the same amount
of content (including peternorth.com, reviewed here), plus literally
hundreds of little streaming video and picture sites of every possible
description. Is any of it any good? Who knows, but you could easily
spend months finding out.
The site is easy to navigate, and doesn't waste your time: movies
stream directly or can be saved to disk. No popups, minimal use
of Javascript, and a clean layout make for a site that can be happily
used on any computer. A search feature is “coming soon.”
Each video is presented in flavors to suit every bandwidth style,
ranging from a jerky WMV postage stamp that loads in minutes even
over a modem, to a massive, fullscreen-worthy MPEG version that'll
take a while to grab even over broadband. The scenes are chopped
up into five minute pieces, and there's a set of still frames to
give you an idea of what you're getting.
SilverstoneVideo.com won't be winning any AVN awards any time soon,
but nobody eats at four-star restaurants every night. If you're
in the mood for meat-and-potatoes porn, just drive up to the window:
you can't say it's not super-sized.
