I remember hearing about Playboy when I was younger and thinking, "There's a magazine that has nothing but naked women in it? Where do I sign up?!" Then one day, I finally cracked open my first magnificent, mysterious issue only to find mostly ads and articles and things that had nothing to do with women, let alone naked ones. The hype that had built up over the years had constructed in my mind what a fantastic thing it would be to have unencumbered access to the sight of the opposite sex sans apparel. The reality was, well, something less. I'm a bit older and wiser now, and I'd given up on that idealistic fantasy of seeing the girl next door unclothed in print long ago. Then I heard about Pure Beauty Magazine(www.purebeautymag.com). Not only does it capitalize on the inferred promise Playboy held in my younger days, but it also comes to you via the Internet, so you don't have to worry about any sticky pages or the Misses finding your stash under the mattress and throwing it out.
The site has been in operation for about two years now, and they categorize everything really well, sorted by year, month and even day. Updates come on a daily basis (there's even a countdown on the site leading up to the next update) and many monthly sections feature a "Best Of" collection so you can get a quick overview of what you can find in that month's pic/video sets. There are modern (color) and classic (black and white) photos, and both the picture and video files are available in different formats and sizes/resolutions, so really anyone can enjoy what's happening on the site, regardless of patience or bandwith limitations.
They brag about having hi-res images and videos, but if I had a penny for every time I'd seen that on a site where it didn't end up being even remotely true, I'd be Bill Gates. However, at PureBeautyMag.com, I can say I was honestly surprised by how true their claims turned out to be. The videos are some of the sharpest I've ever seen, sporting Xvid/DivX, Windows Media and QuickTime formats (get the codec for Xvid for this site; it's well-worth it). They're professionally produced and clear as a bell. That would normally mean huge file sizes and lengthy downloads, but in another of a series of good design decisions, the videos are kept to about two minutes each, maximum. May not sound like much, but to naysayers I would argue that the gorgeousness of the girls and the quality of production make those minutes worth so much more. Besides, who really needs a 45-minute video to get aroused?
Something worth noting is that the site seems pretty unbiased in exactly for whom it's celebrating the natural wonder of women. There aren't any macho "Check out this slut!" kinds of comments. I think that straight guys, lesbian women or just anyone appreciating the female form could have ample appreciation for and feel welcome at this site. I've seen a lot of sites, but very few have made me actually want to pay for what they offer. Comparable goods can usually be found elsewhere for free. However, if Pure Beauty Magazine has an equal, I have yet to find it. Even the site's free tour feels more like a welcome mat than a sales pitch, and they offer plenty to look at to get you craving more.
There's so much more to the site, too, more than I could possibly discuss here: interviews, history of photography, interactive voting for the next "unforeseen beauty," wallpapers, e-cards, forums, tributes, currency exchange rates (it's an international site, born in Europe) and links to world news, to name a few. Great pics, beautiful videos, no hassles (download and keep everything if you want), why are you still reading this? If you love women, there are great things to be had at PureBeautyMag.com. So, go get them!
