Play-Sex-Game.com's "product" is marketed as a game, but that's not really accurate. A game has specific objectives that require the player's attention, interaction and constant participation to achieve. This "gaming" experience is more akin to using a DVD player or flipping a light switch.
The typo-laden introductory pages on the site imply that it's an interactive virtual sexual simulation. It's more like 3D versions of Flash animations at best. Rather than befuddle me with a wide array of options, characters, and ways to get involved, it bored me with the lack of really anything to do. You don't pick characters; you pick locales. You don't really control anything; you pick from a preset list of positions and/or interactions, press play, and that's all. You can move the camera around to get a different (though not necessarily better) view of the action, but while this is the game's main draw, it is also its greatest weakness.
Nevermind that the character models besides the girl (especially the token black/red guy…what the hell IS he anyway?) can be hideous or that the environments tend to be fairly blocky and bland. The biggest offender here is the wonkiness of the camera. While it is controlled by mouse movement, there's no way to adjust its sensitivity or collision detection. Thus, it can be twitchy at times, and if you try to get a direct overhead view of the action, odds are it'll run into the ceiling and reposition itself elsewhere randomly as a result.
What's more, the "click to target" function seems utterly broken. You're supposed to be able to click the middle mouse button to make the camera focus on whatever the cursor's touching, but this gives inconsistent results, usually not the view I was going for. Sometimes, it would move me far away from the action to a wonderful view of the floor or a wall. The manual camera positioning via the keyboard keys (using the WASD config that regular PC gamers should be used to) is way too slow, though it's not like you're going to miss anything.
Everything you see just loops endlessly, building up an arousal meter, and when it fills, something happens. Either she makes a funny face or the guys spunk somewhere. I thought there might be some progressive/cumulative texturing (drawing decals on the character models) or even some dynamic fluid physics for the jizz. The technology certainly exists. There are setups that let you whip the girl, but no reaction appears from her (a smidge of fear maybe, but that's all). There's another setup that gives you a first-person view of the cock, but not to penetrate. You only shoot loads onto her or into her mouth, which apparently is a tremendous turn-on for her according to the arousal meter thing. However, if you pan the camera after shooting a bit, you see that the spunk comes out like darts or arrows, and instead of oozing down her skin, these cum-darts stick out of it like porcupine quills. It's really bizarre-looking and will never come anywhere close to being confused with realism.
There are no volume settings, very few display tweaks, no actual "interactive" elements (you never grab the dildo and jam it somewhere, for instance), and nothing to draw you into the experience like switching to the different characters' points of view. It's not a game; it's not even a decent tech demo. The fact that it runs in a browser window rather than its own dedicated display engine surely hinders what it's capable of, and with no real control over what's going on, this is neither a "game" nor "fun." The URL spells it out like an equation: Play-Sex-Game means your computer plays it with minimal sexiness and no interactive elements that would classify it as a game. Still, it's not terribly expensive and I doubt there's anything else out there quite like it, so it gets some points for trying at least. It's a step in the right direction, just not a very big one at this point. Games like "Singles: Flirt Up Your Life" and "The Sims" may not be X-rated, but they do everything else this game does, and better.
