The
first thing I noticed about PinkFever.com was the number of gorgeous,
original full-size photos I was able to download for free before I
even logged in. Most of the pictures accompanying this review, in
fact, I downloaded while taking the free tour.
The second thing I noticed was the high volume of photosets to
choose from once I was inside. PinkFever.com specializes in photography,
and in fact is the official site of Penthouse photographer
Hank Londoner, and the quality shines through in every picture.
This
isn’t so much a place for videos; while there are videos here of
crystal-clear quality, they stream on a small screen and take a
very long time to load. Most of them are solo masturbation videos
and many of them are quite short, though the models, as in the rest
of the site, are beautiful, perfect, coiffured and manicured babes,
and are always in beautiful settings. My biggest complaint about
the movies, though, is the corny music – the same for each video,
and always to the exclusion of any sounds the girl might be making.
The
meat of the site, though, is the photosets – which is to be expected
when dealing with photographers from one of the oldest porn mags
in the business. As is also to be expected, these are all vibrant,
sharp shots of the most beautiful people in porn enacting the fantasies
we’ve been seeing from time immemorial: a section called Women At
Work with firefighter outfits, nurses’ uniforms, French maids, artists
getting it on with their models and personal trainers with their
charges. There are Exotic Women, Women on Wheels, Country Girls
and Beach Babes. And without exception, the pictures are well-shot,
somewhat artistically inspired, and feature the modern ideal of
female perfection, with and without silicone. If you really love
the top-shelf, airbrushed stuff, PinkFever is a regular storehouse
of it, and the images are all downloadable, as are the videos.
While
the site is quite navigable, well-maintained and professionally
written, it would be nice if the picture galleries had a slideshow
feature. One is forced, instead, to enlarge the thumbnail shots
one by one, in a separate window. This also isn’t all that surprising,
given that this site emerges from a print magazine tradition: flipping
pages and staring at one shot while your hand goes to work down
below is the time-honored method for getting off from porn. But
given the level of technology available, the Web porn connoisseur’s
taste for moving images and the otherwise beautiful design of this
site, you would think they’d take advantage of the potential to
show the shots as slides, progressing from one to the next in order
as the scene unfolds.
But the quality and quantity of this work, from the people who
have been shooting for Penthouse for over twenty years, is
worth the price of admission.
