When a guy wants you to play with his ass, it doesn’t mean he’s gay. At least, that’s the first point sex-guru Tristan Taormino wants to get across, in the latest of her expanding line of sex-ed films for Vivid Ed – ‘Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide To Anal Pleasure For Men’
When it comes to anal sex, Tristan Taormino knows a thing or two. She’s gone from the webmaster of anal-sex-themed website ‘Pucker Up’ to probably the best known expert on anal sex (and sex in general) in America - plus the go-to girl for advice on non-monogamous relationships. Her DVD guides to rough sex, threesomes, fellatio, positions and more have a well-deserved spot at the top of the sex-ed pile. She basically invented the genre (or, at least, turned it from cringe-worthy to credible.)
But it all started with the ass, and arguably that’s the orifice she knows more about than anyone. That’s why there’s such confidence in her scenes here.
‘Anal Pleasure For Men’ has a simple premise – exploring the scope of pleasuring a man through his ass. Aimed specifically at heterosexual couples, it walks through absolutely every stage of anal exploration - from broaching the subject to breaching the sphincter.
The first portion of the DVD is given over to tutorial, with Tristan answering a few questions - like the aforementioned: “Does anal pleasure mean I’m gay?” She then moves onto a very detailed diagram of the anus, which she uses to explain exactly how and why a man might find butt-play so satisfying.
Finally, she covers safety – not just ‘safe sex’, but the hygiene rules required to make anal play clean and comfortable. Her lessons on lube are essential viewing and her common-sense comments on how to ‘play it safe’ should help steer exploring couples away from infection, injury or just plain ‘ickiness.’
Next, we move onto a demonstration, with Tristan overseeing pert and perky Penny Flame as she gives her male go-star some anal attention.
This scene is great. I love Penny Flame anyway – and she’s brilliant in the Vivid Ed movies. Her guide to fingering, dildo-ing and finally fucking her male co-star in the ass are both arousing and educational. How Tristan, sitting just feet away, managed to stay so cool, calm and collected is beyond me!
Akin to other Vivid Ed films, the DVD continues with two other scenes that almost seem tacked on in comparison. In one, Annie Cruz wakes her boyfriend up with some gentle fingering, while the other sees Jandi Lin on the anal assault. Both are very sexy scenes – especially if you’re a fan of anal-play – but aren’t specifically educational and even contradict some of Tristan’s earlier advice (in her scene with Penny, latex gloves were the order of the day. Jandi, literally ‘on the other hand’, goes up to the third knuckle with nothing but a squirt of lube.)
It’s hot, though – and not just because I particularly dig the subject material. Tristan herself is the very epitome of ‘smart = sexy’ and there’s something very positive about all the scenes. For open minded couples considering anal play, this is an essential purchase.
