Trinity’s Desire is a solid new feature that ties six hot porn scenes together with – yes – a plot! Starring relative newcomer Trinity, a slender, raven-haired beauty who made her entrance to the industry via a Texas radio contest, this is a tale of voyeurism as therapy. The film won’t be mistaken for high art, but its combination of a halfway decent – although occasionally dubious - story and compelling sex make for an enjoyable film.
As we learn in the opening scene, Trinity’s character has a nagging problem – fear of intimacy – that ruins a date with her “dream guy” Logan (Trent Tesoro) and sends her trudging home. While walking along a wooded road, Trinity spies a couple (Randy Spears and Nicolette, a curvaceous pigtailed babe) having a picnic and stops to watch. There’s whipped cream, strawberries, and less and less clothing. Hiding behind a tree, Trinity touches herself as the feast turns to all-out sex. Once the couple is done (meaning: after Spears busts a nut), Spears notices Trinity and waves her over to join them, but the tormented starlet turns tail and heads home.
In the next scene, Trinity is soaking her feet (the ten-mile walk evidently took a toll) and relating her hang-up to her friend Jenna (Layla Jade). Jenna, who apparently has a few issues of her own, convinces Trinity – evidently still a virgin -- to spend some time with her at The Oasis, a sex therapy facility where the patients take on aliases (Trinity becomes Ms. Pink, Jenna becomes Ms. Scarlet, etc.) and work through their respective sexual neuroses under the guidance of the portly Doctor P. Lorre (George Kaplan). “We endeavor to steer clear of the blue movie cliches here,” Dr. Lorre deadpans, convincingly clinical. “Our goal at Oasis is to lend a helping hand. Are you willing to take that help?” With Trinity’s shy compliance, the good doctor has Trinity watch a couple of therapy sessions, one where Mr. Green (Tony Tedeschi) gets over his inability to satisfy a woman with two raven-haired hotties, Ms. Black (Lezley Zen) and Ms. Violet (Mason Storm), and another where Ms. Scarlet gets over her inability to orgasm via the domineering Mr. White (Herschel Savage).
In what proves to be the most stylized scene in the film, Dr. Lorre advises Trinity to rest and reflect in voiceover narration while she navigates through a dark, hazy wall-of-cocks dream sequence, tugging and sucking on the appendages (some real, some not) like she’s lost in the wilderness. This is where Mike Horner (arguably the most decorated vet of this experienced male cast; I’ve seen footage of him banging Seka) makes one of his two brief appearances, the other being a brief park bench background make-out blip. I know this because Horner (though not credited,I assume he got paid) is interviewed in the behind-the-scenes bonus footage.
Trinity doesn’t start to loosen up sexually until the fourth scene, where Leanne (Kelle Marie, a skinny blonde Brit) gets her into an outdoor hot tub with a couple of toys. The two women really seem to get into each other, and it’s a hot, wet sensual romp. But this is also where the plausibility of the plot seems to break down a bit, insofar as Trinity’s experience really comes to the fore. She does a convincing job playing the part of the repressed, self-doubting character up to this point, but how’d she learn how to wield that dildo so well? Was it the wall-of-cocks? Or was it witnessing all that sex? Voyeurism can teach you a few things, but from a reality standpoint, I just don’t think that Trinity – if we were supposed to suspend our disbelief and accept her as the virgin that we’re told she is earlier in the film – would have been so natural and non-awkward during this alleged foray into sex. Not that I’d trade the sex she delivers in this scene (as well as the final scene, where she finally gets down and dirty with her dream guy and is screaming stuff like “yeah, fuck my ass!”) for something more bumbling and real, but still…
I should also mention one pesky technical flaw, since Pleasure Productions is touting the film as “interactive” and pushing its P.O.D. (Pop-Shot On Demand) feature as a selling point. Once the Pop Shot icon appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, the rewind and fast forward functions are disabled (at least on my DVD player; I couldn’t get the disc to load on my laptop to compare). This renders scanning within scenes useless once the sex is underway, and while not a critical flaw that prevents enjoyment of this film, it is a bit of a drawback.
So, is this good plot porn? Sure. Is it great adult cinema? Nah. Worth your time and money? Yep. Trinity'sDesire
