For anyone interested in pushing their sexual envelope into the arena of voyeurism, this DVD might be a decent way to explore such a titillating topic. If, however, the idea of real – or realistically produced – voyeur imagery is what you’re looking for, keep on looking. The Voyeur In Me delivers five sex scenes under the guise of peeping, but neither the set-ups nor the sex deliver in a satisfying way. The bonus materials on the disc were boring, at best, and downright annoying, at worst – Hey! Let’s film anything and put it on the disc! – with standard features that all seemed like a bad afterthought.
In the first scene, Sadie and Tony appear to break off from a party, while an unseen cameraman films from a closet. In the background, there's loud, grating noise from the party that seems completely disingenuous, as it gets quiet during their sex, and picks up right after. Sadie sets the tone for the other actresses with her yelling and swearing, which never seems the least bit genuine. The sex is vanilla and formulaic – suck cock, eat pussy, reverse cowgirl, doggie, etc. – in each of the five scenes. Sometimes, the camera shoots around a barrier, to give it the amateur voyeuristic feel, but this just comes off as annoying, as it impossible to pretend that you are really watching couples who are caught unaware. Although Sadie and Tony engage in energized fucking, one gets the sense that even this is timed (and dragged out) to a formula. Alas, at times the sex verges on the tedious, which is something no one wants in a porno flick. After going through the selected motions, Tony has a jerk off session over Sadie, which makes it seem like even he wasn’t that into it. Throw in some terrible, contrived dialogue at the end and you have the recipe for the rest of this DVD.
The rest of the flick is basically only a slightly modified version of the first scene. The girls aren’t amazing to watch, the grievous dialogue continues, and there is even a Kevin Costner moment when one of the guys sometimes has a terrible British accent, even usually he doesn’t. The final scene, featuring Christina and Christian, still works off of the tired script, but the difference in their body size - Christina is trim and petite, Christian is tall and buff - made for the most enticing play. Still, it wasn’t enough to redeem the rest. If the idea of watching private, intimate moments appeals to you, look elsewhere. If you are looking for straight sex with a touch of kink, well, you should probably still keep searching. TheVoyeurInMe
