While one ought to give points for originality, the Devinn Lane show #4 is flashy, shiny but lacks any cohesion, substance, or truly sexually exciting scenes. It’s like a Hollywood summer blockbuster movie – they should have spent some of the production money on a good script or better actors.

The movie opens with a talk show pastiche that leads into a lame one-on-one sex scene. We then cut to an even more disappointing dominatrix scenario. We head back to the studio for dull lesbian action, a ringside seat as two boxers are fucked by commentators, a pool side dildo scene with two women, and a fortune teller who predicts a threesome for a woman. Confusing? You bet it is. Will you get sexually aroused? I seriously doubt it.

While some of the models are appealing, there is too much weird filler in here between the sex scenes to keep your interest. Without an actual story, the sex scenes seem to be background material to what’s going on, and not very good background material at that. None of the sex scenes are particularly hot. They are very stagy, very dry, and tired. What happened to wild abandon?

To be fair, I have not seen the previous three installments of the Devinn Lane series and a fourth suggests there was enough public interest to continue. I wonder if the quality has slipped by the 4th outing.

The production values are extremely high. Lots of money has been thrown into this feature but hasn’t been well spent. The DVD offers loads of extras, including a commentary by Devinn Lane. All excellent and well produced, they don’t make up for the fact that the feature itself lacks the brilliance and hardcore action we’ve come to expect from the Wicked Production team.

I can’t recommend this DVD to anyone, really. It offers nothing that you haven’t seen better elsewhere and too much of it is badly made filler.
