It’s fitting that I move from Anabolic’s Bring’Um Young #21 to Super Whores Volume 4 produced by Lexington Steele’s Mercenary Pictures. Steele himself branched off from Anabolic in 2002, after spending his rookie five years with them, to form Mercenary Pictures, though he works with Anabolic from time to time. For anyone who is familiar with Lexington Steele, it goes without saying that he is one of the best things going in pornography, especially after last year’s X-Rated Critics Organization award for Best Sex Scene. Steele started directing the Super Whores franchise in 2003 and since has passed the directing torch around to friends Vanessa Blue, and Mark Rossi.
That doesn’t stop Steele from remaining the highlight of the show under Rossi’s direction. His scenes open and close this chapter in Super Whores. In his first scene with Mandy Bright, he takes no orifices prisoner. Bright’s blowjobs have become an art form, her reverse cowgirl looks natural, and her vocalizations pitch-perfect. Together, Bright and Steele make the scene fantastical if not believable. In a 2004 interview with GetBig.com, Steele was quoted as saying: “I fully understand that, when I'm working, gentlemen out there are superimposing themselves upon me, into the scene…You can't be Lexington Steele, but you can watch his movies.” Keeping this in mind, you’re going to wish you were having as much fun as Lexington Steele.
The Lex-less scenes in Super Whores are worth the price tag as well, they are the epitome of the hardcore genre. Everything is up for grabs, and these pros drift in and out of positions and moans that only exist in the minds of their audience. In the second scene between Michelle Lay, Kianna and Kurt Lockwood, the reigns are all but given over to Lay who provides Super Whores with its singular DP scene. Lockwood and Kianna follow Lay’s subtle vocal and physical cues as to when to bring out the dildo or the strap-on and exactly how to use them. She gives the equivalent of a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award in her scene, as she is a master of subtleties that drive the viewer wild. If you aren’t editing your face onto the penis of Lockwood, then Lay’s sudden, “Fuck, Kurt!” makes her pleasure all the more believable.
The only scene that could have used some polishing in the arousal department is scene three with Lori Alexia and director Mario Rossi. Lori does a fine job adding some female chocolate chips to this mostly cookie-dough production, but Rossi’s vocalizations are often distracting and draw your attention away from the action on-screen.
The film rounds out with Steele, Jayna Oso, and Rhiannon Bray, and the scene has everything required of a great encore performance. When Steele lifts Oso up and spins her towards the camera without removing himself from her, it becomes painfully obvious who is running the show. When Bray reaches orgasm, gasps, shivers, and then smiles right before we cut into the next position, I was able to totally believe that Steele – and, vicariously, myself – was just that good.
Sure, when you're browsing the shelves at your local store, there are titles that seem a lot more attention grabbing than simply: Super Whores. However, it is still a Mercenary Pictures' production, and in the capable hands of Lexington Steele, a man who gave up a successful career on Wall Street to bring you fantasies on film and whores that are well above average, you should expect nothing less than a blue chip stock.
