Pat and Sam are a couple of (perhaps unwittingly) Brechtian auteurs based in some innocuous corner of Denver. Their films are forthright about their poor production values (unsteady camera work, unreliable sound levels) as they only add to the authenticity of the product, for Pat and Sam trade in, well, trade, creating delightful escapist fantasies that are more philosophically challenging (documentary or ‘mockumentary’? reality or fantasy?) than most porn films. Thankfully, they’re also a lot hotter.
This particular volume features five solo scenes, each starring one of the titular ‘straight’ boys. Each segment follows a familiar – if not tiresome – format: the boy, fully clothed, is distractedly answering the cameraman’s (Pat or Sam?) questions. The young men admit that they, yeah, have fucked a guy, or like pussy, or like to snowboard, or whatever, but they’re more distracted by the porn they’re watching (and their nascent hard-ons) than anything, so it’s only a matter of time before they strip down and get to work.
Larry, twenty years-old and sporting a black baseball cap, opens the film, and he’s certainly convincingly straight, eyes glazed over as he rubs his dick through his khakis, and when he’s urged to remove his shirt, he strips hurriedly, unable to tear his eyes off of the porno playing too loudly in the background. Larry’s dick is well above average, and his hairy, well-proportioned body (and the fact that he’s naked save his black socks) are engaging enough. He definitely gets off, and has a sweet smile afterward.
I don’t care for solo scenes, but for those who do, this film is a treat, because after Larry there’s Troy, less of a naïf than his predecessor, flirting freely with the camera, and obligingly showing off his asshole. Than there’s baby-faced Jason, whose claim to heterosexuality seems suspect, and who works his dick with a young man’s fervor and comes very quickly.
Next up is Austin, something of a contract player for this ‘studio,’ a muscle-bound young man whose patter – he’s very concerned with what pose to assume on camera – reveals him to be quite vain. Austin seems to get off on all the attention. Handsome Brian – who shows up in his Marine uniform – is up next, grinning, snapping his gum and bantering easily before stripping down to reveal his very hot body. Brian seems like the most unassailably straight of this movie’s stars, and his scene is very gratifying for the true voyeur.
The final scene brings together Austin and Lenny, a cute twink-type. They sit side by side and enjoy some porn, but things heat up and they move into the bedroom, where Austin proceeds to fuck Lenny until both deliver healthy come shots, giving the lie to the notion that these are the straight mountain boys of the title, not that I’m complaining.
