When it comes to the term slave, a few images come to the surface of one’s mind.  When the term slave is used in the context of adult entertainment, different images appear in one’s mind.  In Slave to the Grind, DVSX utilizes the roles of master and slave to create a foundation for this hardcore feature.  DVSX did not start the trend of meshing genres in adult films but they certainly make the formula work for them here.  Each scene in Slave starts off with either the man or the woman as the master and slave, with light bondage gear thrown in to create style and mood.  Finally, director David Lord threw in some camera tricks that fully embrace the tone of the film.

Slave starts off rough and hard and it maintains this feeling throughout most of the film.  The one scene that does switch up the master/slave roles is scene three between Sativa and Mikey.  Here, Sativa is in control and out of the whole female cast I certainly feel she was the right choice for this scene.  Mikey is Sativa’s dog, walking on all fours and begging to please his master.  Mistress Sativa loves her doggy so she makes him eat her pussy like a good slave should.  Mikey (and the audience) is rewarded with double oral play in the 69 position.  We also have terrific shots of Sativa’s smooth ass in cowgirl and doggy style.  Throughout the entire scene, Sativa remains the dominant one as Mikey does his best to please her.  The action ends with a nice money shot in Sativa’s chest.

Now on to the rougher stuff.  Derrick Pierce is the epitome of a male porn star; he has a tight body, hypnotic eyes, and a real aggressive nature to his fucking.  Needless to say Derrick is perfect for Slave to the Grind and that is why he stars in two of the five scenes here.  His first scene with Christina Aguchi is a very nice moment in the film because Christina brings some Asian heat to the mix.  Derrick is all man with Christina as he lightly slaps her face while she shifts her cock-filled mouth.  They transition from oral right into doggy style, with one of Christina’s legs up.  Director Lord keeps the camera in a stationary position (not up close on the penetration) so we can see all of Christina in her dirty glory and all of Derrick in his fucking manliness. 

Even though Slave to the Grind contained some really great elements, it also fell through on the delivery of some elements.  The film starts off very dark (with the settings and lighting), but as the scenes progress they tended to lighten up a bit (literally).  This was unfortunate because this change in tone definitely robbed the film of its style.  My other concern was with Derrick’s second scene where he’s the slave.  I was expecting a different feel in this scene from his last, but once the action starts Derrick re-assumes his dom role and the initial premise is gone.  Aside from my concerns with style, Slave to the Grind contains excellent sex with a very nice cast.  It’s the kind of film that makes you wish a beautiful woman would make you wear a dog chain so you can beg for a piece of her ass.
