Ninn Worx can always be relied upon to provide adult films with surreal and edgy storylines. In one of their latest efforts, Sensory Overload, the eternal question of the meaning of existence is tackled. Take it to Ninn Worx to throw in heavy philosophical subtext into a porno movie.
J.C. Sonogod uses his cool rebel, “don’t give a fuck” persona to play Vinnie Kayiczi, a loner with a whole lot of existentialist doubt. He no longer cares about anything enough to even hate it. A friend recommends a revolutionary new technique that makes people enjoy life more fully afterwards. Colors are brighter and food tastes better after the treatment, the friend claims. Soon after signing the contract at the treatment center (staffed by bitchy ice queens) Kayiczi is slipped a mickey at a bar by an attractive woman. When he awakes he finds himself in an all-white room where he is forced to watch, but not participate in numerous sexual acts.
The sex here is varied and enticing and you feel bad for the poor guy for not getting in on any of it for most of the movie. The taste segment shows a delicious looking woman with cream and fruit strategically placed on her erogenous zones. There’s some light bondage and stripping scenes. Some anal and dildo action also round out the movie. All the sex here is great, but nothing in particular really stands out as innovative or extraordinary. The performers with the exception of J.C. Sonogod all seem rather plastic and lifeless.
To watch the whole movie, you must have some patience. It takes a while for any sex to be seen. The beginning has a lot of whining on the part of the protagonist. You really don’t have any real concern for him to get the meaning of life. You just want to see some fucking happening before you take the disc out of the DVD player. The technical skills in the movie are great. There’s good angles and camera shots, but there’s little spic in the sex despite the kinkiness of it all.
While Sensory Overload was a worthy attempt with some interesting ideas, it falls short of really exciting the viewer. If anything there is a sensory margin in this film. It promises too much and offers too little. Ninn Worx often gives out interesting product, but in adult films, interesting can only go so far. SensoryOverload
