In spite of a cast of hot female talent and occasionally arousing come-on chat, Perverted P.O.V. misses the mark in this attempt at next-level gonzo porn.

For the uninitiated, POV takes gonzo (where there is some tangible involvement of the camera operator with the scene), and brings things closer by shooting the scenes exclusively from the stunt dick’s perspective. The aim is to get the viewer as close to the action as possible, and some directors do it successfully, like Red Light District’s Mike John. While Anarchy’s Chico Redfield loses no points in his talent selection, this film demonstrates that it is quite possible to get too close to the action.

The major problem is that the camera is fixed squarely on the cock and the hole during the majority of these five scenes. In other words, you can hardly see the women. This gets boring, if downright claustrophobic, really fast, and it left me scanning around for the brief points where I could actually, say, see Cherry Lane’s pert tits. Here’s some advice Redfield should have given to his stunt dicks (and secondary cameramen) to make this flick a hell of a lot more effective: LOOK AT THE GIRL, DUDES! And stop staring at your dicks so much! Seriously, this is like reality porn for guys with stiff necks and tunnel vision.

The second major chub-kill for me was the dialogue. In POV, dialogue is one of the few key make-or-break factors. You’ve got a single viewpoint, zero plot, and zero effects, so the chemistry between the actors – not just what they are doing with each other but what they are saying – has to seem real if we’re supposed to take the scenes as the real deal. If the yap is forced, the viewer is going to notice. If there were a list of High Crimes Of Porno Audio, obviously forced banter would run a close second to out-of-sync overdubs, at least in my estimation. No doubt everybody’s blurted some stupid shit in the sack, but some of these scenes sent my bullshit detector into the red. Pason usually manages to ring my bell (loved her in The Hi-Teen Club…) but she blabbed some real generic gems in her scene. To wit: "You’re the best fuck... Yeah, this is what I’ve been waiting for. Oh fuck yeah!" Maybe it’s an attempt to make the viewer feel like Pason is talking to them, but it sounds like a 900 line recording.

Perhaps the one grace – and it’s not a saving one, unfortunately – is that some of the intros are pretty hot. In one, blonde streaked Cherry Lane, half-clothed and watching porn on a nearby laptop, masturbates on a couch and slowly entices her guy to join in. Lane’s soft coos are convincing and arousing. And Katin, a cute brunette in a pink fishnet top, also manages to work up a good slow tease in a boxing ring. Once the sex is underway, though, the fixed close-up buzz kill starts to set in, save for some decent blowjob transitions and a sadly brief anal cowgirl interlude where you get to see more of Katin than her shaved nether regions.

A wider, more starlet-inclusive angle would have made Perverted P.O.V. a far more enjoyable and engaging watch. Redfield’s got plenty of star power, but viewers barely get to see it. Look up Mike John if you want real POV. This effort from Anarchy doesn’t cut it. PervertedP.O.V. PervertedP.O.V. PervertedP.O.V.
