Stormy Daniels is a triple-threat star to be reckoned with. She’s gorgeous, she can fuck and she writes quality movies. Neighbors puts these talents on full display.

The smartly written script by the film’s star delivers humor and charm that is not often achieved by other porn movies. In a cleaned up version one could imagine this film starring someone like Kate Hudson as the adventure-fearing protagonist who finds love right across the street, amidst her quirky neighbors and goofball house-guest stepbrother. It could be a charming, yet hokey romantic comedy you’d find at your local Cineplex, only with awesome boning. Neighbors is a date movie for the sexually enlightened.

The staggeringly sexy Stormy Daniels stars as Melinda, an unlucky in love advertising exec with a stifling fear of adventure. Barrett Blade wins her over as the rough-around-the-edges, motorcycle-riding rock-and-roller with a heart of gold who represents respite for Melinda from her fearful ways in love and in life.

While providing hot sex scenes, Neighbors also manages solid comedy, especially the performances of Evan Stone (as oddball stepbrother Rodney) and Voodoo (Juan, the faux-Latin lothario next door). It even jokes on the popular image of porn stars as horny lesbians. (“Since when did you start taking cock, Little Miss I-only-do-girl-on-girl?”). The less than perfect acting and a few cringe-worthy lines add the right dose of porno kitsch. And while the most of the film is good “for a porn movie”, the final scene is actually almost cute by Hollywood romantic comedy standards.

As for the fucking, Neighbors delivers as well, owing to style and the beauty of the actresses more than kink. It may only get to third base as a comedy, but it drops your drawers and scores a homerun as piece of erotic film. While this is largely due to the delicious-assed piece of brilliance that is Stormy Daniels, the rest of the cast bangs, bucks and sucks with apt skill. As is often the case with Wicked films, the sex scenes are short on kinky hardcore activity, even with gonzo-regular Mark Wood getting in on the act. However, they are wonderfully shot and sexy, especially the climactic sex scene with Stormy and Barrett Blade.

Evan Stone contributes sharp comic delivery along with the aerobic tallywacking of Destiny St. Claire while decked out in scuba mask and flippers in the movie’s first sex scene. Nicole Sheridan and Exotica, playing the neighborhood’s cohabitating female porn stars, share a scene that has them engaging in exactly what you would expect to see two enormous breasted lesbian porn stars doing in their backyard: licking twat on a Slip N’ Slide. Exotica goes for the gusto in her first movie role, employing a three-fingered approach to Nicole Sheridan’s own slip and slide.

Neighbors get high marks for usability and offers a slough of extras which top off the DVD nicely. Bonus materials include a “Making of” vignette, interviews and a behind-the-scenes sex reel where each scene can be observed in its more raw form. The Making of’, like the rest of the Special Features, adds a welcome bit of color to the experience. Frankly, I love knowing that Stormy Daniels got Barrett Blade’s cum on her forehead.
