Roy Alexandre’s Natural Wonders of the World 31: Scream Test, is a mixed bag. What’s good about it is really good. What’s bad is terrible. In fact, this film has the widest schism between good and bad that we have ever seen in a single erotic film.

The first thing that’s good about it is the concept. Find some natural and therefore deliciously busty women and pleasure them until they cry out with ecstasy. What’s not to like? And just to clarify: when we're talking Roy Alexadre and Natural Wonders, we're talking buxom women. This is not natural in the sense of the same overly thin model but without the silicone knockers. This is zaftig. Now, don’t get me wrong. This isn’t fat fetishism. Just curviness. So, if you’re the type who can only get turned on watching the kind of women my mother used to refer to as “a giraffe shackled to some melons,” then click on a different movie; no harm no foul.

So, the genuine supple curviness of the actresses’ bodies is a major plus, particularly Sonia, Natalie, and Carol. Nevertheless, as is the case throughout the movie, there is never a rose without a thorn. Several of the women have slightly unattractive characteristics.

A similar dichotomy surrounds the production values. The camera work is great. The angles are inventive, and the compositions are solid. (We particularly appreciate how many of the bj shots, so often dull, fast-forward moments in other films, always include a balancing element, such as when Janette fingers herself in the foreground while blowing Peter in the background. However, the strength of the camera work is countered by the overall crappiness of the lighting, costumes and sound. The sound is the worst culprit here. The levels are choppy, and the tracks are sometimes out of sync. Shameful.

The biggest flaw in the film is the way in which the positive “natural” motif is extended to a negative underlying theme of non-consent. The actresses, particularly Carol, are directed to feign an attitude of initial reluctance, the obvious intent of which is to contrast the sense of their later pleasure and all-smiles attitudes at having been skillfully pleasured at the hands of what are admittedly some very adept studs. Now, the reluctance IS STAGED. It is obviously fake. But the effect of it, particularly when using actresses who are Czech and don’t speak English very well (not in and of itself uncommon, the Czech Republic has a huge porn industry) is at best poor taste, and at worst, exploitation: the capital sin in any sexual arena. An evil to which we can offer no tolerance. It’s an unintentional screw-up in this case and therefore not damning. But it is off-putting.

Anyway, if you love luscious, real breasts and buttocks, this is a pretty decent choice, but it is by no means a must see.
