Generally speaking, it’s pretty tough to go wrong with hot Brazilian chicks. Especially when you take into account the fact that most of them seem to consider taking it in the butt a normal part of a first date and that there isn’t much that makes them blush. With a title as clever as LAteenASS then, I was expecting the normal fare of dusky hued, hot ladies in their late teens getting it on in South American style. I was also hoping for some Carnival themed costumes and music, but alas.
Nevertheless, what the movie delivers is mostly along those lines, though their teen-ness is never established because there is no plot (or ID) and the scant dialogue between moans is delivered in Portugese (I think). I’ll admit it’s possible that the girls are groaning their birthdates, but I doubt it. I have to say here too, that I always appreciate it when the director or producer or whoever takes the time to go over at least a few lines with the girls. “Oh yes,” “that’s the spot,” “I love it” and so on. But, maybe they’re just not language people.
They are, however, hot and Brazilian so that almost makes up for it. There are several things that stand out as weird or annoying with the disc though. The menu for example: when the disc starts, there isn’t one. After the FBI warning, the disc plays this sort of overture where we get a preview of each of the scenes chronologically as they appear in the movie. Some of the setups are artsy, some aren’t (all occurring in a weird black void) and unfortunately they are formatted so that they only consist of one chapter each. Jumping to the next scene and trying to rewind doesn’t work either, so you’re forced to fast forward to the parts you like. D’oh!
The menu finally appears after some hunting around and gives you the standard play/scenes/bonus options. The latter includes a behind the scenes, again entirely in what is probably Portugese, which isn’t terribly interesting, but it’s nice to see naked people hanging out and having a good time even if you can’t understand what they’re saying. The menu also includes the least used feature of any disc, the photos section.
In terms of scene quality, the camerawork is a little off. Generally acceptable, it goes into these extreme close-ups which it holds for 15-20 seconds. Now, I have nothing against a good up close shot of the guy entering her vaginally or anally or whatever, but in this video it could also just as likely be a foot or someone’s sweaty elbow. In fact at times I was even wondering if I was seeing a stunt butt because the camera wouldn’t pan out and it wasn’t clear who was where or what was going on.
Beyond that I can’t say the action was terribly imaginative, though there was an effort to change things up a bit, including a girl wearing what looks like a Catwoman outfit and some threesome action. Pretty middle of the road overall. LAteenASS
