This is a very strange movie. Normally when sitting down to write a review I have a handle on what I want to say and how I feel about the film in question, but Jack’s Playground Volume 4 shattered this process for me. I really have never seen a porn flick quite like this one. It has a solid production value, terrific sound and picture, the women are pretty much all gorgeous, and the technical tricks employed are creative. So what’s the problem?
It opens with a shot of a penis scratching records with headphones on. Need I say more? This film is billed as a comedy in the gonzo genre and I guess that is a sufficient surface description. It is also a collection of crazy scenes that border on being somewhat disturbing. At one point a penis is dressed in camouflage holding a small M-16 in a jungle setting fighting what looks to be a Vietnamese assailant. I’m not joking, this really happens. Just look at the bottom left hand corner of the box photo.
I was ready to just hate this movie because such visual jokes make me a little disgusted. What cannot be denied, and what ultimately saves this movie from totally falling off the map, are the few devastatingly gorgeous girls in this film. There are a some who are not in the least bit pretty, but more often than not the sex scene or solo masturbation scene is populated by a very pretty woman indeed.
The last scene in this film sold it for me. It is a solo masturbation scene with a young woman; the scene is very hot and does not seem fake at all. It is a shocking addition to a movie that seems to be more concerned with playing cock dress-up than in making a hot porn film.
At the end of the day you cannot deny the heat from this movie, and just have to chalk up the craziness to the personality of the film’s creator and leave it at that. It may be a deal-breaker for some, but for those who can stomach a little vile humor (or better yet, know how to utilize the fast-forward button) you will be well served by this film, because let’s face it, it’s all about the sex scenes, and whatever strings these together is passed by more often than not.
