Let’s face it, pornography is not something that is considered “tasteful” to the general public. Without excluding things like penetration, bodily fluids and all the other nasty stuff that makes adult films enjoyable, how can a good old fashioned fuck film be romantic?

Digital Playground has just issued Island Fever 2, and I have to say, if there ever was such a thing as refined porn, this is it. This film has an overall feel of a Cinemax style softcore movie but with all the hardcore elements. Director Joone does a fantastic job by inducing sensuality with every shot of the camera. Sensuality is a sexual facet that’s rarely explored in porn films these days.

Set in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands with waterfalls, vast green brush and limitless ocean waves, a perfect and unlikely backdrop is set for various sexual exploits. The movie opens up with a slow motion montage of stars Tera Patrick, Devon and Stormy seductively posing in the wondrous setting. With no introduction Ms. Patrick and Erik Everhard are completely naked with their bodies pressed firmly against each other. In a place where I would be much too scared of either being attacked by mosquitos, or malled by a guerilla, Ms. Patrick and her mate kiss and touch each other like a newlywed couple. All this as long shots are dissolved into close ups over and over. An elevator music type soundtrack adds to the dreamlike setting. Eventually the foreplay is put to rest, and hardcore fucking ensues. Suddenly Mr. Everhard is wearing a condom. Where the hell do you get a condom where no clothes or bodegas are in sight? On a rock Tera rides Erik as he lay on a jagged rock. A light rain falls on the copulating two giving the scene a perfect erotic touch.

Amazing camera work, tight editing and Tera Patrick makes this a good one. However, Tera placed alongside Devon and Stormy leaves no room for comparison. The DVD Menu features all the regular options, plus a nice behind the scenes documentary. This feature length doc follows the cast as they travel via helicopter, jeep and foot to each exotic location. There’s also a still gallery and some Digital Playground trailers.

I highly recommend this DVD for all those that are either squeamish at the site of on screen sex, or are trying to break in a partner who has previously detested adult films. Island Fever 2 rekindles the long extinguished flame of making love in porn. Buy this one and watch it with your lover. Pornography can be tasteful.
