Paris porn: stylish, elegant, sophisticated.

Recorded in French with English voiceovers available, Hot Frequency is shot around the launch of a new sex-oriented radio station in Paris.

The chic feel of the movie is driven by some very fashionably beautiful stars, an upscale urban setting, great music and some very eye-catching camera work during and in between scenes. It’s damned nice to see the extra effort put in so that the filler scenes have a funky, hip beat to the camera work and editing; so much easier on the eyes. Substance is not sacrificed for style however – the passionate and tastefully performed sex delivers where it counts.

The movie seems to be filled exclusively with two-person scenes, but ends with a rip roaring orgy with pretty much the entire cast. Though most are relatively short, each sex encounter hits all the bases, making for a fine document of thorough love-making.

Situation variety among scenes is unfortunately not as exciting as position variety within scenes. There’s the standard run of the super horny executive chasing everything that moves in a skirt, the office goof-off always trying to get the girls to take a “break,” and the occasional late night at work.

Pascal St. James plays said executive, and by the time he’s done the secretary, cleaning girl, and advertising rep, I’m starting to get a little tired of Pascal St. James and his chiseled assets. On the other hand, feature star Melanie isn’t featured much at all, participating only in a lesbo scene and the final group fuck.

Some redeeming uniqueness of this flick is provided when it’s the station’s first broadcast, and two hotties are taking a call from some poor guy undergoing less than exciting encounters with his girlfriend. Our very helpful ladies end up giving advice that turns into step-by-step instructions that are put into practice live! (albeit without penetration) To top it all off, we have the after-launch sex party, that great group scene so painfully rare in porn these days.

The Frenchness of it all pervades – the clothes, the production style, the mannerisms - it’s everywhere. It’s also kinda fun to watch an all French cast talk among themselves – whory pornstars speaking in that oh so eloquent (read: pretentious) language of love.

The bonus material is fairly innovative – footage of Melanie doing the voiceover (watch out though: the “Film” and “Bonus Materials” DVD’s are mislabeled). Voiceovers are increasingly common, but this time you get to watch it instead of just hear it. Needless to say, as the voiceover recording progresses, her pretty clothes come off and there are some wandering hands involved.
