If you’re in the mood for a romantic love story and aren’t afraid of clowns, Harlequin is a fun watch. Most of the characters are clowns who have sex with their co-stars in clown make-up and costume. Once beyond that, accolades to the actors who really got into their parts. The movements of the actors while having sex and their believability delivering the dialogue draws you in.
We are introduced to Gary the clown, played by Evan Stone, as he visits his sick best friend, Pogo. Pogo reminisces revealing how he lost his only love, a Trapeze Artist he worked with when he was a young man. Pogo launches into a flashback and the opening sex scene. The two young lovers steal a moment away to enjoy each other. There is sensual undressing, and acrobatic sex. As the flashback ends Pogo makes Gary promise to confess his feelings to his true love.
When Gary and Nurse Jay meet he confesses his love to her but he finds out she loves him as a brother. To interrupt the moment Jay’s boyfriend Charlie arrives. Gary, disappointed, goes to work as the street corner advertisement for a local muffler shop. Once his day ends he goes to clock out but walks in on the boss getting it on with a shop girl. He stays to watch them have sex all over the garage table. There’s a blowjob, stiff doggie style and a long facial.
While nursing his wounds at the local clown bar, The Frizzy Wig, Gary gets into an argument with the usual clown bullies. If that’s not bad enough the bartender, Wanda, receives a phone call informing her that Pogo has died. Gary brokenhearted goes to his apartment walking into the sounds of Jay and Charlie having sex in her bedroom. Kaylani Lei does a great job in this third sex scene. She is sexy, sensual and very believable as she pleasures her partner with a two-handed blowjob.
In the morning Jay finds Gary who has been on the couch all night. Gary tries to tell Jay his feelings a second time but is interrupted yet again. Gary leaves ending up at The Fuzzy Wig where he gets into a physical fight with the local clown bullies and ends up in the hospital with a concussion. Gary fantasizes about Jay giving him a hot blowjob complete with a juicy facial. When Gary wakes up Jay tells him she knows but it’s the wrong time. Then she drops a bombshell, she and Charlie are moving into a new house together and Gary must leave.
As Charlie and Jay pack, Charlie confesses his dislike for Gary and her other clown friends. She gets upset and walks out only to come back later to break up with him. Gary on the other hand is busy fucking Wanda in the back room of her bar. They use various positions to give a hot performance.
I’ll leave the happy ending alone so you Romance fans have something to look forward to. This film driven focuses more on dialogue than sex scenes. The sex scenes were relatively short compared to the scenes with dialogue. The concept is interesting as the film has a late 60s, early 70s love story feel using the music, sets and dialogue. The only drawback to the film is the editing errors that made the film slightly confusing at times.
