The Girl Fun series is not like a lot of DVDs that come sliding across my desk. Most films have a series of credits before the action begins. Mercenary Pictures has a very stylized, very well-rendered, very expensive looking CGI sequence that involves pistols with laser sights. Anabolic and Adam and Eve have “highlights” of each star along with their individual credits. If there’s a big-name director behind the lens, you might see a title touting: “An Erik Everhard Film.” The Girl Fun series doesn’t credit their directors, doesn’t hype up their stars and the only hint that Dream Girls has anything to do with the production is when they plug another one of their movies during the last scene. Girl Fun is the glossy side of amateur, and they do it well.
The first scene begins only five seconds after you hit play. We are introduced to Candi and Janessa, dressed like average young professionals, standing by a bed. The cameraman engages them in brief conversation, and we learn that they were placed together because their applications claimed they were interested in fooling around with girls. Janessa claims that she has done it once or twice before and Candi swears she’s never done anything like this before. The truth of the matter is, of course, irrelevant, because this is the façade of fantasy. The girls undress each other and marvel at the fact that they have similar pants, perhaps even bought at the same store. They undress each other and compliment each other’s breasts. Some mild kissing is done, and then Janessa opens her purse to reveal a gallon-sized ziplock full of various dildos. She calls them her personal collection, even though later in the film she is excited when she discovers one vibrates, and breaks a second.
This scene is the longest of the three that make up Girl Fun 24, and it’s a miracle of amateur pornography, I enjoyed every second. The girls take part in little bits of small talk while switching toys and squeal whenever the cold lube touches their warm labia. They giggle, they joke, they provide some of the most genuine-looking orgasms I’ve seen in a while. The entire sequence reminded me of what my twisted teenaged mind imagined girl slumber parties to be like. Finally, I got a glimpse of such a reality.
The main event is followed by Marissa, who dances, fingers herself and masturbates with a showerhead. She stops and laughs about how she likes the crappy techno soundtrack, then dives right into the shower. The small interviews that take place while she moves into the bathroom make her come across as a sweet girl next door who is cursed with minor nymphomania. The scene after Marissa is Nicki who lies around and plays with her two clit rings for about 10 minutes, ending the film on a mediocre note.
Why bless this work with four stars? It’s simple. It’s sweet. It’s erotic. It’s made for men. The subtle humping motion Candi makes while Janessa pleasures her with a vibrator makes you believe that these are straight girls who want to experiment for you, who want to dance for you. This is the sort of pornography that is arousing to neophytes who are embarrassed to own hardcore fare, but still want to enjoy pornography alone or with a partner. GirlFun24
