Gigolo, Lucas Entertainment's latest ritzy release, is a crime drama set among New York City's hustler underground. The story focuses on Michael Lucas as a recently devastated man who returns to hustling to survive, drawing the anger of the world's nicest pimp (Ray Star tries to be soulless and mean, but you never really believe it).

You can't say Lucas doesn't have a sense of humor about how disliked he is by some in the industry: the first shot shows him dead in a large bed, with police examining the crime scene. Lucas, ever the businessman, has actually made a porn film for both his fans and his detractors!

But before this starts sounding too creepy, Gigolo isn't a death fetish film—the sex is kept separate from the crime story. Almost immediately the movie shifts to the recent past, where Lucas is in Jason Ridge's bed in some other part of the city. Lucas leans back and lets Ridge slowly suck his long, smooth dick, then Lucas spends a long time tasting and fingering Ridge's lickable, nearly hairless asshole before mounting him doggy style.

Lucas fucks the cum out of Ridge in a so-so cumshot and feeds it to him with his fingers. Lucas has to work a little to cum after that, but when he does it's a spectacular facial on Ridge, leaving the left side of his head dripping in semen mixed with sweat.

It's important to note that there is some cum swallowing in this film. In first scene, Ridge doesn't care if it gets into his mouth, while other pairings vary from full on-the-tongue cumshots to licking the last few drops of cum from a dick.

The second scene presents the lean, sinister looking Lars Svenson in a black jockstrap fucking Jason Sparks. There's also a threesome between J., Star, and twink Zack Randall, and another threesome between young Kurt Wild, blond soccer-dad-type Scott Tanner, and Ben Andrews, who has possibly the biggest dick in the industry—I swear it looks like six D-cell batteries fit inside that thing. The film wraps up with Arpad Miklos, who is starting to look like he's half-bull and half-man, tearing into Zack Randall, who looks like a freshman in college compared to Miklos. If you like daddy/twink combos this is the scene for you.

The action is hot, the acting is surprisingly good, and the movie strikes the right balance between story and sex. If you're into sex-only films you should obviously stay far away from a movie like this, but if you enjoy a little narrative structure to thread the scenes together, you'll be satisfied.

I would have given Gigolo 4.5 stars had the sex scenes been a little more varied in their positions and wrap-ups. This is particularly a problem when the theme of the film is hustling, because every hook-up happens in a rich man's bed--the challenge is to find some way to elaborate upon the suck-rim-fuck-cumshot mechanics so that the viewer keeps seeing something new with each scene.

As in other Lucas releases, there are multiple soundtrack options, including full score, a "quiet" mode, and sans music altogether. Every porn flick should offer this. As we've come to expect from Lucas Entertainment's premium releases, the packaging looks terrific--the case slides out of an elegant sleeve and unfolds into a bourbon-colored 4-panel collage of flesh. Disc 1 contains the movie, while Disc 2 contains bonus footage including a behind-the-scenes reel (some bloopers as well as Lucas and the crew playing around), an extended scene between Lars and Sparks, some bonus fetish scenes, and the standard gallery and previews.
