Ah...college days.
I remember sitting in my college gathering place during pledge week and stealing furtive little glances at the young guys gathered together. Frat boys are indeed very distinct breed of male. Paul Barresi is trying to capitalize on the gay man’s fascination with all things "frat" in his series of videos called "Frat Boys On The Loose."
Volume 1 of the series is subtitled "Puppy Love" and before we even get to the action, we hear tender piano playing in the background while the opening credits roll. Four guys are sitting around at the film’s start wondering where one of their cronies may be; turns out he is having a threeway off campus somewhere.
Ryan Scott, Lark Larson and Brock Kinsley are apparently taking a break from yard work to enjoy each other poolside. Unfortunately, these twinks are not the kind of frat boys I so clearly remembered (and fantasized about) – they more closely resemble the drama club type practicing their singing in the halls of the dorm.
Barresi gets plenty of close-up shots of his twinkies sucking cock and batting their big doe eyes into the camera. No matter how appealing Scott’s cock may be, when Larson bats his eyes at us, I lose my enthusiasm. While these three are busy, hairy-chested but still twink-like Chris Sullivan has erected his ladder in the neighbor’s lawn to do his own yard work. (Am I the only one who doesn’t trim scratchy tree branches with at least a T-shirt on?) He spies the action across the way and after spending a few moments groping the front of his pants, gets off the ladder and forcefully invites himself to the party.
Threeway becomes fourway. As the boys circulate amongst one another, we notice shaved bushes and those delicate trim frames of the participants. More batting of the eyes and tender puppy play ensue. Sullivan soon invites Kinsley to "go somewhere more comfortable" leaving Larson to top Scott. Scott eventually brings himself off while riding atop Larson.
We re-join Kinsley and Sullivan in a bedroom. Sullivan lavishes Kinsley’s hole for a while then fucks that primed hole while Kinsley lies on his side. The position the director puts these two is allows for some deep-driving and nice eye contact between the two guys. A bit of overacting from Sullivan – his face wears that "I’m fucking you hard on your side and don’t you just love it" expression, but I just didn’t buy it. My eyes started to wander and I spent more time wondering where Kinsley got his strange and poorly done tattoos.
In scene three, we revisit the four guys from the very top of the film. They have worked themselves into a daisy chain of sorts with their hands down each other's pants. They too decide to "take this outside and get a little bit more comfortable" (who writes this trite dialogue??). We next see the four paired off in lawn chairs. Kurt Summers, Hans Ebson, Deacon Frost and Ryan Chandler more closely resemble frat boys and even before they begin, the potential is there for some steamy action.
Barresi shoots the action so that every cock looks huge – and so do most acne scars and pores. The guys switch into every conceivable pairing swapping blowjobs before they pair off in separate areas - just like in the previous scene.
Summers stays behind with Ebson, topping him on an outdoor lounge chair. We get some nice shots of Ebson slapping his meaty prick against Summer’s pale skin during their fucking. While both men are attractive, nothing was remarkable about the scene, other than Summer’s ecstatic facial contortions.
The final scene is between Frost and Chandler after they’ve taken it to the futon inside. Ryan Chandler is the beauty in this film (and there’s always one that sticks out for me); even though his prick is not remarkable in any way, his pouty lips and certain breathy quality capture attention. He treats Frost’s hole to some lickin’ before topping him. Barresi gets a little too close for my comfort here; I don’t think I’m alone in saying that spit and lube running down the inside of a thigh does not make for appetizing viewing.
Barresi tacks on a "Behind the Scenes" section to the end of the film instead of having it appear as a separate DVD extra. Barresi seems to think that the models’ "fans" want to have some kind of personal greeting from the models themselves. The forced responses from these very models, however, just make them look uncomfortable. Barresi should probably also keep his mug out of the range of camera.
I can't imagine why he is labeling this video as a "frat" fantasy – this labeling is misleading to the consumer. And while his models are not unattractive, they may not be what you’d expect when you rent the DVD, hoping for Phi Delta types abusing their pledges. FratBoysOnTheLoose-VolumeOne
