All the men in Flavamen Freshman Year – Issues 3&4 have beautiful bodies and will be found attractive by someone. Whoever did the casting covers all the bases when it comes to all the sizes, muscular shapes and skin tones that Latin and Black men are. Variety is definitely the word in this video. The main impasse of this video is the fact that it’s a video based on photo shoots, where the primary focus wasn’t making a porno, but to make a magazine. Watching this video makes it clear that there are quite a few ideas that work well on print, but not on video.

For instance, Q is an attractive, thuggish Black man who knows how to stroke his massive cock with flair and seductiveness. Only thing is that he does it with his eyes closed. In print that’s fine because it adds more of a voyeuristic element. On video there is a loss of connection with the viewer. There’s never a true sense of his character, I don’t need a background check just some personality.

Fausto, although undoubtedly the most handsome of all the men featured in this flick, has a similar issue. He keeps his eyes open throughout, but he rarely looks at the video camera. He focuses on the photographer and his lenses. All that is necessary is a naughty look, a wink, a kiss in the camera’s direction to turn up the heat, but he stays cold and distant.

Not all the models ignore the video camera, Ruff Ryder, by far the standout star of the film, plays to the video camera. He flirts with it making sexy faces in between his grunts as he jerks off. He displays his name tattooed on his stomach with pride and joy. He has fun with his enormous friend he has christened, “Dog”. His true enjoyment is what sets him apart from many of the other models.

Mitch Michaels spends the majority of his scene trying to get hard to a girly magazine. Of course watching a straight guy jerk off is enough to send some people through the roof, so if you are that person this scene is for you.

Here’s an overview of the sex scenes in this film. It isn’t all masturbation. In the first sex scene, Lil Man and Imagination seem to be enjoying themselves and they come up with one really creative position to fuck in, but they’re definitely posing for the camera, which cancels out the fluidity of the movements. The scene with Amir and Tyrice Wood is shot more like a traditional porno scene. There is very little awareness of the clicking camera. Amir is a surprising bottom and Wood is definitely an ass man, but it falters from the stuff the dick in and it shall get hard philosophy (it never does). The final couple and the most handsome is Luca and Gilbert. They switch positions too quickly for the viewer to really establish if Gilbert is enjoying getting shafted by Luca. Maybe he doesn’t because he skedaddles off the bed as soon as Luca cums.

Flavamen has some great moments that will definitely please, and some others that are major pitfalls in this reviewer’s opinion. However, if the strength of the visual image is what gets you going, definitely give it a go!
