Why did the dumb blonde sit on a newspaper? So she could lip read. Alright that joke was really bad, but here’s something that is much better. Vivid has released a DVD that pays homage to the age-old pastime of telling blonde jokes. In the movie 5 blondes (yes it’s spelled with a lowercase “b” in case you thought I was blonde myself and don’t know proper grammar) is both fun and sexy. Hosted by two chain-smoking frogs named Jethro and Leroy who tell real dirty blonde jokes to each other in a bar (we can't make this stuff up), 'blondes' is a very irreverent kind of porno. The bevy of hot golden haired girls play up on the whole dumb stereotype. The segments are pretty much acted out dumb blonde jokes. Rather than being mean-spirited, blondes clearly shows that the girls are in on the act. The blondes here are joyous, happy-go-lucky girls looking for a good time.

Alexis Malone and Gen Padova are the most “blonde” of the girls here. That is, they are the cutest and most playful. They deliver the dumb blonde punch lines with as much skill as they do giving blowjobs. Padova’s blowjob scene is in particular the best of the DVD. Cassie Courtland and Denice K also provide some great scenes. They are less bubbly than the first two girls, but then who needs bubbly when they can get down and dirty? The guys here double as studs and straight men to the girls and they don’t seem to mind giving up the best lines if they get some good fucking in exchange.

The feature girl is Monique Alexander who is more of a sultry, seductive blonde than an free and easy blonde. Like the guys, she acts as a straight man and sexual aggressor. Real hot is the lesbian scene. She is in total control and with her at the helm, who would complain? She more suited for less goofy pornos and is often more enjoyable to watch in her other movies where she has more scenes. When I watch Monique Alexander, I want less jokes and more fucking.

The movie could have used some more hardcore action. Other than blowjobs, there is no sodomy in this DVD. That’s a rarity nowadays in the porn industry. The talking frog segments were fun, but it needed to be balanced by some racier sex positions.

Small quibbles aside, blondes are some pretty good fun. Fans of tacky humor will love blondes, but more importantly if you like blondes, smart or dumb, then blondes is for you.
