Plottie fans, this is definitely a treat to satisfy the craving. Paul Thomas delivers another lusty yet provocative look at what drives some artists mentally and physically to create their masterpieces. One might say it is a tale Mr. Thomas knows quite well, the more personal the idea the better the work.
This tale features Rocco Siffredi as Narciso, the famous director who has come to Hungary to promote his collection of work. However, Narciso is troubled by inner demons that have him question his work and his life. Managed by his Ex-Wife Dasha, and married to another actress Claudia played by the beautiful Janine, Narciso’s time in Hungary is filled with choices, confrontations, deadlines, beautiful women and most of all sex.
At one time or another, I have been faced with a situation to which I usually want to resist. When I resist, the universe smacks me with sign after universal sign indicating that I really shouldn’t be resisting. This becomes true for Narciso as he journeys through the film. As he contemplates his current directing career mulling over whether he can direct adult films or not he runs into former mistresses who intend to bed him, snoops inside a wedding limo only to see the couple having sex, another couple anxiously waits for him in his hotel room for the chance at a threesome.
Thomas is fantastic at mixing his artistic vision with the sexual intimacy and intercourse. Starring as The Critic, Thomas encounters Narciso on a walk in the woods. He leads him to a tent where they go in one side and come out the other to find a gypsy camp. These gypsies are topless and dancing with their male partygoers. Gathering around Narciso, Thomas explains his reason for being there, to see the exhaustion and blankness in Narciso’s eyes. “To live your dreams open your eyes.” He tells Narciso. Then the scene changes: all of the gypsies have paired up for sexual pleasure. Narciso slowly walks around them taking in all of the views, all of the ideas and the beauty in sexuality. He even joins another couple already in progress, pleasuring her orally and fingering before getting a BJ and treating her to a facial.
Narciso leaves the tent and faces himself still unsure about his course of action. His wife Claudia who has been having a little fun herself gives him the cold shoulder because of his infidelity and the critics hastle him about his work at his own film showcase. That night, Narciso closes a deal to start making documentaries for another studio. Of course he does it the old fashioned way by sleeping with the film executive. They pleasure each other orally before testing the fortitude of the office furniture. Of course, the deal clincher is when Narciso unloads on her chest.
While shooting on location for his documentary on adult films he is asked by the director to help him with a difficult shot. Narciso solves the problem producing an amazing piece of adult film. This is what launches his career as an adult film director. However during this realization it has become clear to his wife Claudia that he will not be faithful to her and she wants out.
The film ends with scenes from future events, Narciso as an adult film director posing his actresses in situations that mimicked his own sexual memories and the confession from Narciso that “in the end life is just art”.
There is one other thing to watch out for in the movie. Narciso sports a mysterious black eye in the beginning of the film. Maybe I missed something but I don’t recall how he got it. What’s even funnier is that in one scene with Dasha she asks him about it and it jumps from one eye to the other. Have fun film fluke fans.
The DVD comes as a two disc set. Disc 1 features the film, titled scene selection, Positions room, Vivid products, and more adult fun. Disc 2 has all the DVD extras including B-T-S, deleted scenes, extra sex, deleted dialogue, bloopers/outtakes, bonus scenes, trailers and a photo gallery. This movie is a great watch and you’ll feel like you’ve been in Europe.
