Volume 1 . . . not exactly the most rousing name for an adult video, is it? Try not to be fooled by the unimaginative title, this second intallment from Ebony Kittens is a legitimate erotic feature with some pretty hot action. How hot? Well, for now let’s just say that watching this video will keep more than just your time occupied. Unfortunately, despite some really steamy scenes, Volume 1 is far from a perfect porno, but it is, ironically, a perfect example of how the little annoyances make all the difference in the end.
We’ll start with the good: Most of the scenes in this video are capital H-O-T and watching them would arouse the limpest of noodles. What makes these scenes so good is realism; There’s no over-staging and barely any breaking of the fourth wall. There’s not even a script, and were it not for some clear heels, bad lingerie, and an overabundance of sex toys, you might swear you were watching home videos (of the bedroom variety, of course)!
Next comes the bad: The bad in this video are the little bits here and there that take you away from the home video illusion and remind you that you are in fact watching produced porn. Small things such as the unnatural apparel(because we all know that women love to go to bed in transparent, plastic platform heels rather than bedroom slippers) and breaks in the action. When I’m watching fellatio, one of the last things I need to see is the lady stretch off camera for some lube, pour it like pancake syrup on the penis, and then resume like nothing happened-- as if she didn’t just ruin the moment.
Finally we come to the ugly. Not much to say here but three things: First, the lighting made anything lighter than brown skin tone look pale (although it did wonders for the appearance of the ejaculated cum). Secondly, the camera continuously lost focus which is very distracting when you’re looking at a particularly sexy shot and it suddenly goes all fuzzy. Third, the solo masturbation scenes seemed tacked on. The girls are fine (especially the center cover-girl, Caramel. Delicious!) but it was just filler material.
