Chemistry, one of my favorite classes in high school, and not surprisingly a topic of much discussion in this season of love and desire. Not surprisingly, also one of the greatest concepts invented ever by a director of such a film. The idea: put a group of dedicated porn stars in a secluded house with several camera teams, add an entire room full of assorted toys and lubes, mix well and serve.
Letting a seasoned group of performers select (albeit within a restricted group of participants) their own interactions at their own desired times does create a certain level of distinctiveness in the final product. Whereas the casting in most films is decided long before anyone shows up to set, these are completely natural, including some requisite sweet talking before each scene.
Mr. Marcus and Marie Luv kick off the action in an extended hot tub scene on the back patio. The interplay between these two is almost magical, their smooth demeanor and slow burn sexiness almost begs for an Isaac Hayes background track. Marie brings it all back down to Earth, however when she reminds her stallion that they’re ‘supposed to be fucking in a bed.” Big Daddy does what he does and Marie’s enjoyment is evident from her jaw dropping, ab tightening screams that last for several minutes at a time. Marcus continues his well-practiced ministrations, and as is only possible in pornoland, a chromed, green jeweled butt plug appears from off camera to get fed gently into Marie’s hungry ass. He proceeds to bend her over the side of the hot tub and takes her from behind, making this quite the opening bang for your buck.
Mika Tan’s precocious personality shines through in so many of the film’s ad hoc scenes, it actually becomes a pleasure to try to figure out where she will end up next. Like an excited youngster on Christmas morning, she bounces into beds with the roving POV camera alternating participation with candid shots of the performers mid-scene. She flits into a room where Jack Lawrence and Marie Luv are already taking turns at each other, and joins her lips to Marie’s already swollen ones as Jack penetrates the new intruder.
Mr. Marcus shows up and retrieves the POV camera, only to find himself on the receiving end of Mika’s linguistic technique. Marcus relieves himself of the burden of recording the incident, and Luv picks up the machine, to film herself being penetrated by Jack, and the scene continues, in dizzying detail, until all performers have been mutually satisfied, and the viewer, if not for the restorative effects of a box of Dramamine, might find themselves equally affected.
My constrained space here does not allow me to fully impress you with the extent of the deliberations here: strap ons, Dana DeArmond’s anal skills, random puppy piles of love, and so much mixing of sweat, saliva, and seminal fluid that it is little wonder that the enigmatic title would have a double entendre. Searching for chemistry with that special someone this Valentine’s Day? Search no further, this is your film.
