Big Ass Slumber Party, directed by Mason Dixon and brought to you by Black Ice, is a dense film. The all-girl slumber party is light on hardcore sexual energy yet surges with tenderness and romance. Chockfull of some of the hottest and most well known names is black porn; this film is as soft and pink as a budding vaginal flower.

Slumber Party abandons sexual urgency in favor of delicate whimsical action.

A well-intended film that works better as an instruction manual than a hardcore lesbian fuck fest, the film's major fault lies in its ability to take the animal energy out of sex, replacing heavy hitting sex with affectionate caressing, lingering glances, and deep seductive kisses. The aforementioned are only a few elements of the film that distract and dilute the smoldering adult action.

To say Big Ass Slumber Party is a chick flick would be insulting. It would imply that lesbian and bisexual women prefer their sexual experiences light and sweet, which is an unfounded generality, as is the hardened angry lesbian stereotype. With every breathing creature duality is inherent and that is what is missing in the film. Slumber Party is akin to a roller coaster that never ascends - a steady ride with no thrill.

Another contributor to the film's down fall is the absolute lack of chemistry in almost ever scene. Even the Tasmanian force known as Jada Fire lacked her usual spunk. Veteran Sinnamon Love played to her girl next door image with lackluster results in the third scene with newbie Belle De Leon. The adult film industry relies on certain attributes, selling physicality first with psychological and emotional connection pulling up the rear. Fantasy based and larger than life viewers often turn to porn for a release from the mundane, a sliver of life outside of the norm. Slumber Party is closer to the after hours activities of many newly coupled partners with stars in their eyes.

The real action in the film is rooted in the behind the scenes footage which, if you are student of the inner workings of the human psyche, you will find fascinating. A few juicy tidbits from the extra section include Sinnamon Love admitting to being in the game for thirteen years and learning that Lexie Cruz was a dental school student before finding her way. Another plus is the beautiful plush sets vibrantly bursting with warm and cool colors that highlight the natural sienna and auburn hues in the ladies' brown skin. The lighting is exquisite, soft and subtle, it mixes well with the perfectly chosen lingerie.

Nicely cast, yet poorly directed Big Ass Slumber Party is desperately in need of a sexual red bull.
