Larry Flynt really is amazing, isn't he? The guy didn't invent porn, but if you think about his legacy he may as well have. He's a veritable Porn Mogul and Hustler as a brand is about as ingrained in the culture as Coke or McDonalds. Just as viewers back in the 50's knew what they were going to get when they saw the WarnerBros, Universal, or Columbia logos, viewers today raise their expectation levels as soon as they see the words "Hustler Video" inside of that purple television screen.
The good porn keeps on rolling with one of Hustler's latest offerings "Barely Legal All Stars Vol. 2." The "Barely Legal" series is one of Hustler's longest running and most successful concepts. It's a very simple idea that has generated untold sums for Mr. Flynt and company: scoop up all of the fresh young porn talent and get them to commit to filming their first adult scenes with Hustler. Many studios employ similar concepts, but the "Barely Legal" series has really set the standard. The added bonus for Hustler is that when some of these young girls become pornstars they get to put out a greatest hits compilation, hence "Barely Legal All Stars Vol. 2."
"All Stars" has decent production value, good camerawork, a ton of special features, and depending on how you feel about the stars featured, it's a good buy for any fan of the "Barely Legal" series. You get 7 performers, three of which stick out the most: Monica Mayhem (she fucks what looks to be a man dressed up as an Arab Sheik while three other girls writhe in the background), Jenna Haze (an early performance by the former AVN Starlet of the year where she already exhibits her trademark ferocity), and Belladonna (whom I really cannot watch anymore after that painful interview she did on Dateline a while back, but hell, I know she has a lot of fans).
The DVD provides viewers with a convenient "Sex Menu" enabling the viewer to jump to the best parts of each scene. Coupled with a "Behind the Scenes" section for almost every girl there is something called "Clive's Comment" an unnecessary piece of footage where the director Clive McLean does a little riff on each of the girls, as if we cared.
"Barely Legal All Stars Vol. 2" really is a good buy, if only to have a piece of porn history in your sock drawer. It’s always interesting, not to mention incredibly hot, to have if not the first scene your favorite pornstar has shot, one of the very first at your beck and call. If you enjoy Monica Mayhems tight Australian body, Jenna Haze’s seemingly unquenchable sexual appetite, or Belladonna’s raw nastiness, then you’ll find yourself more than happy with this DVD.
