They say right on the cover of this DVD that it is filmed on location in Asia. Just where they filmed it escapes me because the only scene that tells you where they are is the third scene, “Another Day in Bangkok.” Not that location necessarily matters, but it definitely helps with the fantasy aspect of a film. It seems to be a big waste of time for them to shoot on location in Asia if they shoot almost all of their scenes indoors.
Each scene usually starts off with two guys who ask an Asian woman to come back to wherever for sex. There is just one scene where only one guy is involved. There are only a handful of double penetration scenes, which can be a letdown at times because it cuts down on the variety of the scene. Also, the double penetration scenes are sporadic, rarely going for more than a minute at best. Moreover, there is nothing much left up to the imagination about what will come in the scenes following because once you see one scene, you can be sure there is more to come because it happened in the two previous scenes. It can be frustrating in a lot of ways.
These girls are newcomers in the business, that is one thing that is certain. The guys are the ones that have to direct them to what they want: whether it is anal, oral, or whatever. Each scene follows a basic outline. Guys approach girl, ask her series of questions, get her to a bed, fuck her. The scene ends when the guy or guys shoot their loads all over the girl’s face. It can get pretty boring quite fast. Most of the conversations that they have are inaudible and thus hard to know what is going on at all. All the girls are undoubtedly hot, but their inexperience on camera leaves you looking for something else. The camera angles are mediocre, and the camera swipes used to switch from scene to scene do not cut down on the smoothness of the film. One thing that can be annoying is the Asian traditional music that cuts in and out in the film, most of the time without warning.
For the most part, this film was not as bad as one might think, but it was not particularly good either. The DVD menu and extras are the best produced, probably better than the film itself. The DVD Special Features include a cast list for each scene, six trailers, Sex Talk (commercials for sex talk lines), website information, and a slideshow. There is also Behind the Scenes footage, a Director’s Profile, and the Hustler Hollywood Store commercial. The Behind the Scenes footage is mostly just how they set up each scene and where they went around Asia. It is more educational than anything else. The Director’s Profile on Ray Anderson was somewhat interesting, but it is perhaps something he should save for his memoirs because it really does not belong in adult films. Above all, it is a run-of-the-mill film in the Asian genre. AsianFeverVolume16
