When the two of us first viewed this film, we were not very sure what to make of it. Metro Interactive’s Asia Noir 5 is not an easy film to classify. After a second viewing, the best description available for this movie is an art house film, wrapped in a street drama, encompassed by an adult movie. But beyond that, this is a hustler’s tale; a story about what happens when a girl gets turned out. None of the characters are named, but are just holding roles.

The outer dressing of this film is set in a theater where our feature is being shown. Asia, wearing a blue outfit, barely covering her ass makes her way into a movie house where “Asia Noire 5” (yes, the alternate spelling of “noir” is done on purpose) is showing. Upon entering the theater, she finds a seat in the front row, and is immediately noticed by the number of black men already inside. Settling in with popcorn, soda, and trying to keep her skirt covering her ass, she watches as the movie starts.

The first scene is set up as Dick James and Tia Tanaka arrive at a night club owned by Guy DaSilva and managed by Mr. Marcus. James has a saxophone audition, but he needs a little “somethin-somethin” to knock the edge off of his performance, so he proceeds to fuck Tanaka in the men’s bathroom. After she gives James a sloppy and satisfying blow job, he then props her on the edge of the sink and eats, then fucks her to a screaming orgasm. Later in the same setting, while James plays the sax, DaSilva pays Tanaka to take Mr. Marcus into the same bathroom and give him a private audition demonstrating her skill in playing the skin flute. Before the film leaves the nightclub, we are treated to a final dual scene with Kiwi Ling, Nyomi Marcella, DaSilva, and Marcus, which was rather dry and unmoving.

The next scene takes place after Tanaka has agreed to work for DaSilva. The two of them, along with Sierra Lynn, Sledge Hammer, and Tyler Knight are at a boxing gym (also owned by DaSilva), where Hammer and Knight are working out in the ring, while DaSilva and the two ladies sit at ringside watching them. DaSilva, playing the pimp game, has Tanaka take care of the two guys in the ring. Inside, the three demonstrate some interesting options available using the ring ropes as supports, while DaSilva takes Lynn upstairs for what unfortunately proves to be an uninteresting scene. Those events lead to the end of the movie, but not the end of the film, as Asia proceeds to give Johnny Depth and Nathan Threat a little after movie treat as she sucks and fucks both men to explosive orgasms.

All in all, the problem we found with this movie is that it was too gritty and the sex was not consistently hot. Some scenes were pretty good, while others were just boring. The other problem was that the story itself has a depressing ending, which takes away from any enjoyment that may have been gained from the sex. The only problem with street stories is that they very seldom end well, and the sex that is usually included in them is not about genuine pleasure, but to gain power over others.

We are not saying that this is a bad movie, but this film should not be viewed as a simple adult film. The cinematic values are well established and the music is rather unique; a combination of acid jazz and house. However, this is an adult film review, and while this is not a bad movie that happens to have adult themes, it is not a great adult themed movie. If you're interested in the mechanics of the pimp game and its inevitable turn out, this is definitely one for your shelves.
