When you first look at the cover of Artcore 3: Masquerade, you are easily set up for a foray into “mystery,” “adventure,” and “the unknown.” At least, that is what the cover images lead you to think. The text promises the viewer that they will see “the nastiest sex” with the “most beautiful women.” Well, Jade and Max are here to lay down the real deal with this flick.
This one comes from Anabolic and while they produce a reliable product, this one didn’t quite live up to the hype. Now, note that we haven’t seen Artcore or Artcore 2 as of yet, so we have nothing to judge it against but our own standards. With that being said, we honestly expected a bit more from this film. The DVD cover with the image of Lucy Thai, wearing the feathered butterfly mask and the text describing “an orgy club where you fuck the unknown” got our attention and evoked images of an x-rated Cirque De Soleil or something similar. That and the promise of “the nastiest sex” made it more enticing.
However, in the end, all you got was very no-frills sex. Now, while that phrase may sound just plain weird, please realize that we were expecting really nasty sex or very weird sex, the film only gave you regular, run of the mill (for an adult film) sex. It was not in any way, shape, or form, bad sex…it was just…sex.
In our opinion, the stars of the film were Nautica Thorn and Lucy Thai. We are not taking anything away from the other women in the film, but those two did fuck their asses off. Especially with one scene where Lucy Thai decides that she needs four cocks in her life and proceeds to suck and fuck like a succubus who just got off of a Jenny Craig diet!
On a side note, notice that there are no men mentioned in this film. The reason for that is because all of them are masked. The men arrive on each scene wearing suits or tuxedos with domino masks and while the clothes come off, the masks stay on. This adds an element of fantasy and mystery for our female viewers. To expand on that element, one scene with Tiffany Holiday has her sucking multiple cocks as they are thrust through vertical sheets of thin latex, so all you see are the cocks and the imprints of the men who own them, as she thoroughly tongues each and every one of them.
As a bonus, you also get the soundtrack CD for the film. The music of the film even evoked that “mysterious mood” that you get from the film. So after we watched it, we decided to put the music on and see what kind of “mystery fun” we could come up with. When you guys get the CD you can do the same.
In closing, we gave Artcore 3: Masquerade four stars because while it is a very good film, with the admirable quality of sex that you see in an Anabolic production, the hype for it sort of left the two of us wanting a little more. Had this been a really raunchy film with the mystery element added, it would have been a smash. However, it got us all hot and ready for “nasty” and all it delivered was “sexy” with a little dash of “kinky.”
