Welcome to the ultimate road movie!
Usually when talking about smut, we reviewers are always highlighting how great the sex is in a movie but how horrible the premise and actual “movie” part is. With Adventure Sex, it’s totally the opposite. This is actually a good movie: it’s entertaining, the plot is interesting, and what goes on in between sex scenes is actually better than the actual sex. That isn’t to say the sex in this movie is without merit, because there are some hot scenes; it’s just that the movie itself is what’s so great here.
The above description is a rarity, to put it mildly, so I’m in uncharted waters as I write this review. In some respects the sex in this movie is way too realistic, and I mean that in a bad way. The lighting is bad, the skin tones natural to the point of fault, the sex haphazard, clumsy, and not very sexy at all. That isn’t to say this is so bad after all, but it is definitely amateur and natural to the extreme.
Every sex scene in this movie is between the same two people; they are both attractive, but not drop-dead-porn-star-beautiful. The plus here is that these two eventually develop an honest affection for one another, and near the middle/end of the movie the sex becomes more familiar and better executed. Most of what makes this movie so interesting, though, is the premise itself. We have a group of four people, two performers, two crew members, setting out in a van packed with beer and other substances, traveling across the country having filmed sex at various landmark spots along the way. Hijinks ensue. It’s actually really compelling to see how they pull off some of these scenes. The two most extreme scenes come when trying to have sex at the Mexican border, and on the Golden Gate Bridge. The sense of anxiety you feel is delicious.
There is an abundance of sex, to be sure, but it’s just that not all of this sex is very good. If you can get into these two performers, and find the above premise intriguing, purchase away -- you won't be sorry, and I’m sure you’ll be watching every minute of the movie and not fast-forwarding once. But if you prefer a more streamlined and fantastical piece of porn, just pass on by; this ain’t the film for you. AdventureSex1
