Throat almost became the porn film that wasn’t. When Vivid producer Stephen Hirsch got the rights to remake the seminal ’72 porno Deep Throat, everybody was enthusiastic about the new production – after all Hirsch had hit gold with remakes of Debbie Does Dallas and The Devil in Miss Jones.

British comedian Ricky Gervais has seen his seminal sitcom, The Office, translated into no less than seven international versions – including Steve Carrell’s highly regarded American one. Yet the rotund Ricky probably never anticipated a pornographic parody of his creation – which is exactly what the wags at New Sensations have come up with. You can tell that somebody’s paid a lot of attention to making this pastiche work; right from the moment the opening credits open. Office XXX features eerily similar music and substitutes the Los Angeles suburbs for the drab vista of Scranton, Pa.

The Englishmen and women over at Harmony Films are producing porn at an impressive level, hitting a stride as a porn studio analogous to when a sports team gels during a championship run—when the separate personalities of a group form a cohesive and singular will. In this case, a singular will to make professional-grade hardcore pornography without reservations, or even the slightest flinch in the face of a torn asshole.

This strong entry in the bareback genre allows viewers to appreciate the chemistry between sexual partners by focusing on mostly pairs and threesomes with just one orgy. We get to see the performers’ personalities before or after each sex scene as they chat with each other or the director, and often, we watch them shower after the sex. The cast is quite attractive, with an excellent blend of ages and body types, and also plenty of seed planting.
