SexHerald: You got into the business in 1989. What made you want to work in the industry?
T.T. Boy: When I was younger, I had a lot of sexual energy. I never had enough sex, so when I saw porn, I was always mesmerized. I said to myself, 'Wow, I'd really like to be in it.' I first started watching porn when I was nineteen, and I thought: 'I have to get into this business.' So I used to drive up to San Francisco, towards L.A.; I'd go to the shows, and I'd ask who to talk to. Some girls would give me their numbers. I was still a little shy then, but I went there, and I was young, and in really good shape.
SH: So who was your big break?
TT: My uncle was really the first person responsible for getting me into the business. He told me who to call.
SH: You started out as a performer, correct?
TT: Yeah, in the beginning I was just learning the craft. A lot of guys were not very strong performers. So I started learning how to be relaxed, and do my job, and after that it became very easy for me. I could just have sex all day long. It's not that I liked every single girl, but I had very good concentration. Physically, I was very gifted with stamina.
So, after learning the craft, I just excelled quickly, working for everyone, becoming an actor that everyone wanted to use. In 1990 I was working two to four scenes a day, twenty days a month. That was going well for years, just working with everyone, and then I started winning the awards. Performer of the Year, Hall of Fame – all these awards, but that was when I was working all the time.
SH: And how did you get out of performing and into other things?
TT: I started slowing down in 1998. I had a friend who owned a company, and he said 'Why don't you make a movie for me?' I've always been more attracted to women of color; I like the way they look. I'm Latin; I like Latin girls, and darker skinned girls. So I said, 'That sounds good.' So I started Black Street Hookers. I did seven or eight movies, and then I started 18 and Nasty, and Hot Latin Pussy, and Spanish Fly Pussy.
In 2002 I decided I wanted a change; I wanted to do my own distribution. By that time I had really started fading out as an actor, so I thought I'd get the distribution thing down. So I took the steps to do it. I still perform for myself, but that's it.
SH: Evasive Angles and T.T. Boy Productions are both your own companies. Could you tell us a little about the movies that both companies make and the differences between the two?
TT: Evasive Angles is pretty much all black men and all types of women. T.T. Boy Productions is basically me and some other people who are friends of mine working with all the other girls. Evasive Angles was started in 1997, and then in 2003 I started T.T. Boy Productions.
SH: Do you like performing or directing better?
TT: As the years go on I'm changing, so it's hard to answer. Directing is a lot of work; it's a lot easier to have sex. Sometimes it's hard to direct, and then sometimes it's not. Sometimes I shoot and direct at the same time, so I'm still directing all the time. Sometimes it's stressful with people. Performing for me is very easy, it always has been.
SH: What's the hardest thing about being in adult?
TT: As a performer, I would have to say that the hardest thing to overcome is the girls that you don't want to have sex with. You have to stay hard for the girls you're not really attracted to. Of course, this is without using Viagra, I've always been natural. The people who aren't know the difference.
But brand-new girls are popping up every day, and they're all hot and pretty, so it doesn't happen as much as it used to. When I was performing more, they were all the same girls, and they were older.
SH: Do you have friends or girlfriends in the industry?
TT: Most of the time I get turned off by dating the girls in the business. In the end I don't date them very well. I just don't like the situation. They're getting fucked by everyone else; it just doesn't do it for me.
Right now, I can do whatever I want. I don't have to fuck every girl. I don't need to be an actor. So I pretty much have a lot more freedom. But I like to fuck, so I can still take care of my girlfriend. Today, it's a lot easier because I'm independent and can do whatever I want, I don't have to show up to the set on time and be in great performing shape, don't have to worry that I fucked the night before.
SH: You were in the 2 nd generation quarantine during the HIV scare. How did you handle that?
TT: I didn't work with anyone. It took seven or eight weeks, and then I was fine.
SH: And your companies joined the voluntary moratorium?
TT: Yes, of course.
SH: Do you have any venues outside the industry?
TT: Maybe. But I don't want to talk about them. -Both laugh-
SH: What are your plans for the future?
TT: My plan is to give the best possible product to the people. So, to anyone who watches my movies and appreciates the quality of them, thank you.
