SexHerald: Are you excited about being a VCA contract girl?

Joanna Angel: Yeah. I’ve been working with them for a while and it’s really cool because I think it helps BurningAngel.com. Making Joanna’s Angels was the first big budget movie Burning Angel got to do and being able to put together that whole movie and finish it, and hand in finished product really helped us become better moviemakers. I’m excited to make more. We now have an opportunity to make a feature movie with plots and sets, and all the things that Burning Angel can’t really do on our own. So, it’s been cool to be able to do all that stuff.

SH: Describe what your upcoming release, Joanna’s Angels 2, is about?

Angel:Joanna’s Angels 2, is about a girl who . . . she’s like a blonde preppy girl, and she applied for a job to be an angel and didn’t get it. So, she’s really angry and wants to seek revenge on all the goth and punk girls in the world because it’s not fair that she didn’t get the job. She nabs the president’s daughter, and she sends a ransom note saying that she’s not giving his daughter back until everything alt is illegal. So, it’s my job to rescue the president’s daughter. And, she brainwashes her by making her listen to pop music, but at the end it’s a very happy ending. The moral of the story is it doesn’t matter how many tattoos you have, or what color your hair is it’s what’s on the inside that counts. It’s very campy and very silly. It’s cute; I think everyone will really like it. Mr. Marcus plays the first Black president and he says really crazy things like, “I’m gonna fuck you like I fucked those Iraqis.” Also, I’ve never seen any interracial scenes in alt-porn, so it’s kind of a big deal to have young, Brooklyn hipsters fucking a big black guy. You just don’t see that very often. I had so much fun making it and writing it. I think that’s what makes my movies special is that I really put my heart into them.

SH: How would you describe the past year you’ve had?

Angel: It’s just been crazy. I feel like I closed my eyes last year and I opened them yesterday and I’m like, “Oh my god, I just had this crazy dream.” I worked really hard and I think that people really started to catch on to what we were doing. When Burning Angel started, we were working out of this bedroom in my old apartment. We actually moved into an office last year at this time and when we moved in I said, “I’m really going to work really hard this year and I’m really going to do this.” And, everything just started happening, one thing after another. Once the ball started rolling, it didn’t stop. It went so fast I could barely keep up with it. It’s been really cool. I’m very happy and very thankful for everything I have.

SH: Describe BurningAngel.com for someone who hasn’t checked out the site?

Angel: It’s a punk rock porn site with about 130 girls on the website. There are photos that are not explicit. All the girls have piercings and tattoos, and they’re more unique-looking than your average porn star. We have some girls who wear sneakers, some girls wear shorts, we have a lot of different kinds of girls on the site and they all have profiles and blogs. You get to know their personality and jerk off to their photos. There are 25 video clips to look at. It’s just clips of some of the girls who wanted to do videos. A lot of them are very campy and silly, and some of them are really amateur-looking. It’s a really cool, friendly, comfortable porn site to look at. It’s run by me and my partner Mitch. SH: Are you a very sexual person? Did you always feel pretty or go through an awkward phase?

Angel: No. I think I discovered more about my sexuality through porn. I did go through my awkward phase when I was younger. I had braces and acne and zits. Angel: Manuel Ferrara. He is amazing. He tries to make a woman feel good. He doesn’t just pound away; he really tries to make a woman feel good. And, his accent is cute.
