Bridget the Midget: “Were you on Howard Stern?” I guess the next most common question is, a lot of people ask me if I’m still doing porn, and people also ask me, “Why do you call yourself a midget?” They think it’s politically incorrect and I should call myself a dwarf or a little person. It rhymes. Bridget is my actual nickname, not a stage name. If you don’t know who I am and you hear “Bridget the Midget is performing,” you know you’re going to watch a midget. SH: I know you don’t perform in movies anymore, not for a long time.

Bridget: I never quit. I just took a very long hiatus.

SH: So, there’s a chance you may make a comeback?

Bridget: Absolutely I will! I’m waiting for the right girl to work with.

SH: It won’t matter what size she is as long as you’re attracted to her?

Bridget: Exactly. I don’t mind working with a midget, but she’s got to be hot and attractive and like me. But there aren’t any, so I haven’t slept with a midget yet. I did do a movie with Twidget, though: Twidget the Midget.

SH: When people come to see you feature dance, have you noticed it’s because they came to see you, or is it because it’s a fetish they have of seeing a little person perform?

Bridget: It’s everything, it’s everything. Some people just have to see it to believe it. Some people are fans of mine and they’ve known me forever. For a few guys, it’s most definitely a fetish. Some tattooed people think it’s cool. They like to see my tattoos and stuff. I draw a lot of disabled, handicap and midgets to my shows. The show has a lot to do with me being little.

SH: You were part of a rock band. Are you still involved in a band?

Bridget: No. we actually broke up a while ago because we got signed to go on the road and they didn’t want to go on the road. I’m looking for a band that wants to go on the road, get serious and write with me. There’s just no real money in it right now. So, money-wise I want to do something adult-related. So, I would like to make some more movies and produce them myself.

SH: What sort of movies do you want to make? I’m guessing you don’t want to make just midget porn movies.

Bridget: No. I’ve been in the industry for so many years that there’s certain things I’d like that I haven’t seen people do too much of. I’ve got ideas. It’s not gonzo or a porn with scripts, or anything like that. I would like to do a lot of girl/girl stuff. So if anyone is going to see me in anything any time soon, it’s definitely going to be with a girl.

SH: What kind of girls are you attracted to?

Bridget: I’m really attracted to a woman who has a beautiful body and a beautiful face. I like large-breasted women. Color—I really don’t care. She can be Asian, black, Hispanic, white, whatever, as long as they have a pretty face and a nice body . . . big tits. I love big tits.

Bridget: I have a huge name and a huge following. But no one in the industry wants to admit it to me.

SH: So, are you not interested in performing with men?

Bridget: I am but I’m going to be a little bit pickier about that.

SH: If you had to pick a guy you’d want to work with, who would it be? Who would be on the top of your male wish list?

Bridget: Rod Fontana still works. He’s definitely on the top of my list. He’s an old-time friend and I enjoy working with him. I’d love to see him again after all these years.

SH: When you meet someone who doesn’t know who you are, do you tell them right away what you do?

Bridget: Oh no. If they don’t know who I am I just totally don’t even go there until someone tells them who I am. I never say it.

SH: What is people’s usual reaction when they find out?

Bridget: Usually it’s just disbelief and like, “Really? Naw!” It usually goes from that to, “That’s great!” They think that it’s just great.

SH: Are you recognized when you out on the street by your fans?

Bridget: Absolutely. I have to go everywhere with a bodyguard because I’ve had a couple of weird, close calls. One time in Hollywood, I had this stranger pick me up and carry me out of a restaurant, down the street. It was weird. A lot of stalkers, especially when I’m done doing the radio shows, usually wait outside. I don’t really have too much trouble in clubs, although some people get a little out of control. But I have a bodyguard and I’ve had to have one because things have gotten a little hectic.

SH: In general, are the fans nice to you when they meet you?

Bridget: Oh yeah. Once in a while you get the drunk guys that expect more from me. Once in a while you get the drunk person that goes, “I didn’t see your pussy.” They treat you like a piece of whatever. Once in a while, you get somebody like that.

SH: Do you have a lot of female fans as well?

Bridget: A huge amount of female fans. I have a huge amount of gay fans that come watch me. Gay guys will say that they’ve never been to a strip club before but they want to see me.

SH: A gay guy was who discovered you dancing in a club.

Bridget: A gay makeup artist invited me onto the set. Thought it would be fun and it was fun. I never left.

SH: Were you nervous at all performing?

Bridget: The first time I did porn, no. I was so natural at it and it felt so normal and comfortable to me. And I know I’m pretty but I always had trouble getting laid so the whole porn thing was great for me. At least I knew I was going to get laid. And at least I knew I was going to get laid by someone who had a test. It’s a lot cleaner than meeting strange people.

SH: Were you very sexual before you got into porn?

Bridget: I would say I was very self-sexual with my body, my personal self. Sharing that with a lot of people and doing porn was very different. Before I did my first porn, I never had sex with a lot of guys. Maybe one guy and that was it. The whole porn thing, I got to fulfill all my fantasies that I ever wanted. I had a good time. I learned a lot of things about sex, giving head and things I probably wouldn’t have learned otherwise. I have a lot of experience so when I do meet the guy I’m supposed to be with, hopefully I’ll have some experience. SH: If you hadn’t been discovered, you think you would’ve gone into porn anyway?

Bridget: Oh, absolutely. I went to an audition once in Hollywood for a regular movie when I was about 17. There were so many midgets there auditioning for this tiny little part. There were like 10 average people auditioning for this huge part but only 10 people showed up that day. I’m thinking, “There are too many damn midgets trying to be in the acting industry.” So I thought, “What industry are there no midgets where I can make all the money. There are no midget porn stars, so I could do that. I’m pretty.” [Laughs]

SH: Did you watch a lot of porn before getting into the industry?

Bridget: Before I started doing porn, no. I watch a lot now.

SH: What’s your favorite kind of porn movies?

Bridget: I prefer girl/girl types of porn. I prefer very pretty girls. I don’t really like young, skinny, flat-chested girls that much. I prefer a more womanly porn-star look.

SH: Do you think the industry treats you with a lot of respect?

Bridget: They don’t treat any of the girls with respect, especially me because I’m a midget. They treat me with so little respect it’s ridiculous.

SH: Which is a shame because you did do a lot to bring midget porn to the forefront.

Bridget: I won an AVN award but they didn’t want to give it to me at the awards show. They wanted to give it to me in private at the office. They told me to pick it up. I was like, “You keep your award.” There’s no point in receiving an award unless you get to go up on stage and get it.

SH: What was the award for?

Bridget: I’m not even sure. I think they made up a weird title just for me.

SH: Do you miss performing? Is that why you’re returning to doing porn?

Bridget: I miss performing, and I haven’t had a lot of opportunities since I quit porn to have a lot of fun with women. A couple of girls, yeah, it’s fun. Bridget: I never ever hated it, or wish I could be a normal height. It’d be nice to try it out for a day but I’m glad I am the way I am because I think I might be too crazy if I wasn’t. It keeps me in-tune, keeps me in check. I never really wanted to be taller. Every once in a while a midget will go through the, “Why am I so little, I wish I could be tall,” thing. They don’t really mean it; at least, I don’t really mean it.

SH: What’s the best thing about being a little person in the adult industry?

Bridget: In the adult industry, and also in the regular industry, the best thing about being little is that whenever they need a sexy midget I’m the one they go to.

SH: Do you ever check out midget porn just to see what’s going on?

Bridget: Oh yeah, all the time.

SH: Are there any hot-looking midget chicks?

Bridget: I’ve seen some hot-looking midgets, especially on MySpace you see some hot midget posing in lingerie. I’ve seen some hot midgets but not with the total package of being very sexual.
