Under the guise of a college astronomy club, members of “The Kasha” fight the evil, seductive forces of “Light Hunters.” A Light Hunter is drawn to its prey through their unfulfilled desires then they live off the energy until the prey become exhausted and eventually die. Light Hunters sort of fly through the air as a cluster of red dot-like lights. Once they find a prey to possess, they draw them into an intensely pleasurable “dream." The victims, usually women try to prolong this “dream” even as the Light Hunters feed upon their very life force (with the help of several thick, wet and red tentacles). The Kasha are from a “blue moon” that has mysteriously appeared in the sky next to the normal moon and have special “powers” that help them fight against the Light Hunters.

First, let’s get to know the “Astronomy Club” members, shall we? Izumi is the petite, “hot-for-teacher” head of the Astronomy Club. Kyoko has the power of Satori, which enables her to read people’s minds. Chiro is Kyoko’s bird-like dragon. Ryo is the “new guy” and has a thing for Izumi. Manami, also new to the club, has the power to make people do she say. Makoto is the sexy, androgynous Amazon Kasha member who seems to always arrive in the nick of time to save the day! She’s the type of character that you know she’s a beautiful woman but you kind of expect her to whip it out and when she does, you expect “it” would be both sets of genitalia…because that’s what you want it to be! Then she turns out just to be a normal female and you’re slightly disappointed. There are two more members, who do not seem important enough to have a name but they are cute, “football player” types that seem to be the group’s muscle.

A rash of arsons around the city has the members of the Kasha on their toes because as unlikely as it may seem, Izumi believes that the Light Hunters are behind it. Manami let’s the group know where she senses the next arson will happen and together they go to check it out. Lo and behold, they find “a woman in red” at the building site. As the members of the Kasha get bombarded on the ground floor by icky grey floating demons, Ryo and Manami head up to try to save the woman in red.

When they confront her, Manami sees are the betrayal the woman has gone through. Through the woman in red’s mind, Manami can actually feel what had been done. With her special power of words (once again, I’d abuse this power SO BADLY) she helps the woman realize that burning the places of her past will not take away the horrible memories. Ryo discovers his “warrior-like” power when trying to save Manami, who is suddenly ravaged by the Light Hunter that was expelled from the woman in red. Ryo does save Manami but not before the Light Hunter starts one last fire. The other Kasha members just barely escape but could not help Ryo and Manami.

At this point Makoto, the hot, sexy Amazon (did I mention hot? Oh yea, I did) shows up and punches through the wall in time to save Ryo and Manami from the hungry flames that were about to engulf them. After such a scare, will Ryo and Manami continue to fight the good fight alongside the Kasha? Who knows, but I can say that the drawing on this anime is pure art. Once again Anime18 delivers and when they say, “Absolutely NOT for viewers under 18,” they mean it. The sex scenes are graphic…very (nicely) detailed. The DVD comes with trailers, previews, an art gallery and, once again, an explanation on Japanese animation and Japanese culture. The storyline was okay with just enough humor to hold my attention. I give it 2 ½ stars.
