 “One day, a voluptuous maid appeared in front of him. She was his childhood friend and she was looking hotter than ever. Years ago, he told her of how he fantasized about the companionship of a maid and she believed his words. Now she would come back as a gorgeous maid and reveal to him her lifelong lust for him. Accepting her wishes to become his, he would begin his dream life. How his days and nights are wilder than he could have ever imagined. He had no idea what a dirty girl she had become.”
 Heading into this one, we weren’t sure what to expect. Sure, the cover featured a cute little smiling maid, and as you just read, the back cover went out of its way to inform us that the maid in question was a willing participant. And after all, it was called “Maid in Heaven,” not “Maid in Demon Bondage Tentacle Blood Hell.” Still, this being hentai, we were quite pleasantly surprised to find that this was a very simple story of the (fully consensual) sex life of two people.
 The film features only two characters, the voluptuous and desperate-to-please Nagisa and her rather generic master, known only as “master,” and focuses on the relationship between the two. Essentially, Nagisa has known “master” for their entire lives, she is in love with him, and she moves in with him to become his “maid,” whereas “maid” means “sex slave.” Maid in Heaven has sort of an Ai Yori Aoshi vibe to it, but with the addition of forced cucumber sex.
The English voice acting is quite good, and the film gets extra points for the rather ingenious idea of creating two separate dubs for each language (English and Japanese)—one that includes the regular dialogue, music and sound effects, and one that features Nagisa’s inner thoughts, as well as her dialogue. This is a very interesting twist, and one that I’d love to see more Anime and Hentai developers pick up on.
Another neat twist is that there are two discs included, one of which is in high definition. Granted, this would be a much neater twist if this was Howl’s Moving Castle or something that could benefit from high definition. The animation in Maid in Heaven is pleasant, clean and fluid, but not breathtakingly detailed or complex, and the HD disc is unfortunately rather pointless. Still, Nagisa is very cute, and the animation does the job.
 The sex scenes range from fairly straightforward to more outlandish, including the aforementioned cucumber, and a brief (and unfortunate) foray into peeing. The sex scenes were okay while running the standard dialogue track, but became much more enjoyable with the “Nagisa’s Thoughts” audio. Even with the plot and the back cover and the title to remind us, it’s still Hentai, and when Nagisa is being taken advantage of, it’s much easier to enjoy if we’re reminded that she wants to be. Again, if only more Hentai would follow this formula.
 This was a very well-done feature, and benefited greatly from the extra work that was put into the second audio track. Overall,Maid in Heaven was a fun, cute little hentai, which seems to be exactly what it was aiming for.
