No matter which way you look at it, Roller Derby girls are hot.

I don’t know exactly what it is, but I’ve got some ideas: Those cute outfits; their toned, muscular bodies; that aggressive, get-what-you-want attitude that stays with a Roller Derby girl long after she’s unlaced her skates. It’s like a girl with her own Harley Davidson. Even if she’s not that hot, she’s hot.

So given that, it’s not surprising that some enterprising porn entrepreneur was going to turn their attention to the renegades of the Roller Derby sooner or later; and the result of that is James Avalon’s big budget porn production: Roller Dollz.

Roller Dollz features an all-star lineup of some of the hottest girls in porn, including the absolutely edible Eva Angelina. Based around the misadventures of two rival Roller teams – the Pin-Ups and the Bitch N’ Moaners – Roller Dollz combines everything you love about Roller Derby girls with lots of beautifully filmed, explicit sex.

It’s a lot of fun, from start to finish. Featuring lots of authentic Roller Derby action, people who want to see girls-on-skates are going to be in roller heaven. When the boots come off (or, in some scenes, stay on) the action heats up even more!

Now, as far as I know, neither Alektra, Eva Angelina, Courtney Cummz or Bree Olson are trained skaters, so the fact that they all strap on a pair of boots and hit the track during the narrative scenes of Roller Dollz is pretty astonishing. It’s a testament to their commitment and athleticism that Roller Dollz isn’t just two hours of beautiful girls falling on their shapely asses.

Instead, we get some pretty hi-octane skating that illustrates the bitter rivalry between the captains of the two competing teams. That rivalry leads to some red-hot sexual misadventures as the girls seduce teammates, rivals and referees in an attempt to get one over on the other team. At the climax of the movie, a Roller Derby descends into an out-and-out orgy as girls and boys fuck right in the centre of the track.

It’s all sizzlingly hot. I think Roller Dollz features some of the best looking stars in some of the hottest scenes I’ve seen this year. James Avalon does a great job ramping things up, so the sex scenes get steadily more involved and erotic as the film progresses.

There’s also plenty of sex on offer here. As seems de rigor at the moment, Roller Dollz comes in a two-disc DVD set. However, unlike other offerings, the movie is actually spread over two DVDs and you certainly feel like you get your money’s worth at the end of it.

In addition to the film itself, you get some really cute behind-the-scenes footage (if you got aroused at my suggestion of two hours of beautiful girls falling on their bottoms, you won’t be disappointed by the blooper reel) and some ‘making of…’ featurettes, trailers and music videos. All in all, there’s a lot crammed into the oversized, ribbon-trimmed box set.

Despite having seen some really great stuff come out of the major porno studios this season, I think Roller Dollz will probably emerge as the best of it all. It’s a movie. It’s porn. It’s cute. It’s kitschy. It’s a must, in fact, for your collection.
