Alison Tyler has edited more than a dozen erotica compilations in dirty erotica, erotica just for her, and three volumes of Naughty Stories. Here, she gathers an array of bondage fantasies both heterosexual and homosexual in her second installment of the Best Bondage Erotica.

Still, while Tyler seems well read in the erotica genre, Best Bondage Erotica 2 has only one story that focuses on gay men. Unfortunately, this demographic is largely absent from the collection, which has a majority of bondage fantasies lived out by heterosexual couples.

The sole story that centers on gay men, “See Dick Deconstruct” written by Ian Philips, stands out as a bondage account of revenge and torture. The narrator, as the dominator, forces his pseudo-existentialist “little boy” to succumb to his inability to speak. Both find the power of silence in foreplay.

“Fire and Ice” reflects a slightly older woman’s dominance over a woman four years her junior who exudes sex as she watches her across the room at a party. Rachel Kramer Bussel continuously refers to fire and ice (hence the title) in this erotic tale: “I do what I’ve been wanting to do all night, bringing my hand up under that skirt and pressing against the fire I find there.” Ice is a vivid sexual tool in both this story and “See Dick” allowing the reader to imagine the intensity of the cold while in a purely salacious state.

Elaine Miller’s “Be a Good Sport” is an intoxicating read, balancing animosity between lesbian friends with rough foreplay. Strong climaxes coupled with the constant trepidation of pain provide a layered, bondage-filled, arousing fantasy for the reader. Mistress Sheila excites and tortures both women in the story as they try to contain their anger and orgasms, all the while making the reader anticipate her next move, just as the beset-upon women do.

Some stories are not pure bondage and may not entice those who are very familiar with BDSM; instead there are erotica stories sprinkled with light bondage & discipline, supplying some spanking with the hand or a leather belt and brief moments of being tied up. True bondage enthusiasts may appreciate a third of the nineteen stories offered. While there are stories that provide a good amount of dominance and submission, a reader would expect the stories to really tackle the enticement and thrill that people see in bondage and obedience. The reader should be teased as much as the submissive party in the story.
