World’s Smartest Porn Star Lives Out All Her Fantasies!

by Robin Perez

SexHerald:I heard you on Howard Stern a couple of weeks back. What was that experience like?

AJ Bailey:It was amazing. It was really good. I was really nervous going into it and I didn’t know what to expect at all. I knew I was going to be quizzed, but I didn’t know what the consequences were going to be. So I was really nervous, but when I got in there he was really nice, and I wasn’t nervous at all. I had a really great time and I was really happy with how I did, so it was good.

SH: Were you always a fan of his?

AJ Bailey:Yeah, absolutely. I used to watch him when he was still on E!, and then I had Sirius radio for a while.

SH: Was that your first time on a Sybian? Was that your first time ever on that sort of sexual device?

AJ Bailey:I wasn’t on the Sybian, I was in the tickle chair. Yeah. They had me strapped into a chair and tickled. It was good. I wouldn’t have minded the Sybian though.

SH: Was the AJ Bailey Experiment your first adult film?

AJ Bailey: I had done girl/girl a couple of years ago. I’m contracted with Vivid now, and that was my first boy/girl movie I had ever done.

SH: Were you nervous your first time out?

AJ Bailey:I was just for the first couple of minutes. Everybody is really professional on set. I knew that from doing girl/girl. It was totally fine. Once it got started, all the nervousness just went away and it was just a really fun experience.

SH: Is there much of a difference between doing b/g and g/g?

AJ Bailey:Yeah, there’s a big difference. Girl/girl, you’re always comparing yourself to the other girl. I think it’s a little bit more nerve-wracking, and you also have to be a little more imaginative. With a boy/girl, you know what goes where. That’s a little bit easier. It’s great because when you’re with a guy you’re the star and you feel really sexy, and it’s really good. I like it. I like it a lot.

SH: Are you more naturally submissive with men?

AJ Bailey:Yeah, I think so.

SH: What about with girls, are you usually more dominant?

AJ Bailey:I’m usually more dominant with girls.

SH: How are you enjoying being in porn so far?

AJ Bailey:I love it. I did it before a couple of years ago, and I left it to finish my education. I came back because I did enjoy it. I always had a good time. I never really experienced any downside to it at all. I think it’s a great job, it’s a fun job. I have a pretty different outlook on sex than most people, so I think I’m really well-suited to it. I always have a great time. I really love it. It’s a good job for me.

SH: How did you secure a contract with Vivid so early in your career?

AJ Bailey:I had done some other things years ago, even though I was only in it for a couple of months. It was the right place at the right time, I think. I think I happen to be what they were looking for and vice versa. I really can’t explain it other than that.

SH: Besides The AJ Bailey Experiment, how many movies have you done for Vivid so far?

AJ Bailey:I have 3 so far.

SH: Is this a career? Do you plan on doing porn for a while?

AJ Bailey:I don’t know. I’m willing to take it as it comes because I would never had told you in January that I would be where I’m at now. I never really know. I really enjoy it but if there ever comes a day where I don’t enjoy it anymore then I’ll go. But as of right now I’m having a good time. I try not to plan too far ahead because you never know, but as long as I’m having a good time doing it I’m going to keep doing it.

SH: Any funny incidents occur in any of your shoots?

AJ Bailey:Funny things always happen. I mean its sex. All kinds of things happen like little things that everybody giggles about. But usually on set, everybody’s laughing anyway. Everybody’s there to have a really good time. They’re serious and professional, but we always keep things light on set. Everybody’s always teasing each other and it’s a good time.

SH: How are you enjoying your time with Vivid?

AJ Bailey: I love working for Vivid. They’re great.

SH: You’re billed as the world’s smartest porn star. How would you rate the intelligence of the porn girls you’ve met and worked with?

AJ Bailey:See, that’s something that’s kind of misleading. By world’s smartest porn star, I think they’re referring to my education. I’m very educated but it doesn’t mean I’m smarter than anyone else out there. Everybody has their own different ways and every girl I ever worked with has been really great. The stereotypes about porn girls aren’t necessarily true anymore. I don’t think any of the girls out there are dumb by any means. Every girl I’ve met has been very sweet and smart.

SH: Your Masters degree is in anthropology? Why did you choose to study anthropology?

AJ Bailey: Actually, I was originally in biology. I wanted to be a vet, and then I realized it wasn’t for me. I couldn’t do it. I had taken some anthropology courses my first year, and I was really interested in it and I sort of gravitated to it. I grew up going to museums and going to historic sites. My whole childhood, that’s what I was really interested in—culture—I just naturally gravitated towards it. I decided to pursue it after I got my masters degree.

SH: Do you have an area of expertise in anthropology?

AJ Bailey:My Masters degree is in museum studies which, essentially, [is to take] care of collections of museums.

SH: Do you plan on pursuing a career in anthropology after your porn career?

AJ Bailey:Yeah, eventually. My education isn’t going anywhere. Your looks go but your education is always there. That’s not something I’m necessarily in a rush to do but it will always be there for me, so it’s great.

SH: Have you worked in the field at all?

AJ Bailey:Oh yeah, of course. I’ve done all sorts of internships and I worked while I was in grad school. I have but it’s not feasible at the moment.

SH: Were you a fan of porn before entering the business?

AJ Bailey:Yeah, I loved it. Actually, I was most familiar with Vivid. One of my first boyfriends who ever got me into porn was really into Vivid girls, particularly of the era of Chasey Lain, Brianna Banks and Kobe Thai. So I’ve seen all of their films. Yeah, I was always a fan.

SH: So features is the kind of porn you like watching?

AJ Bailey:In the beginning. I don’t really watch porn anymore because I’m in it but when I first became familiar with it, that’s what I was watching.

SH: Did you have a very sexually active life before porn? Are you very sexually active outside of porn today?

AJ Bailey:Yes I was. Today, not at all. When I was in college, when I was younger, everybody when in their early 20’s is a little crazy. I was always sexually adventurous. I guess I still am, but as of right now I just take it as it comes. I’m not crazy like I was when I was younger. I love sex, I love great sex, but I really don’t get laid that often to be honest. When you’re a porn star it’s really hard to date. People are either intimidated or something. It’s not that easy to do. I’m probably less active as a porn star than before.

SH: What sort of sexual fantasies would you like to have come true now that you’re in porn?

AJ Bailey: That’s a question I get a lot. Because I do this, anything I do want I can make happen immediately. I’ve had two guys, I dated rock stars, so there’s nothing I can really think of. I’ve had threesomes with girls and all the things most people would normally say is a fantasy for them, I’ve kind of already done it. I’m more open to surprises. As of right now, Vivid will ask me if there’s something I want to do and I can’t even think of something. I know it’s a lame answer but it’s true. When you’ve done a lot of things it becomes hard. Things that I find interesting now are just holding my hand and stuff like that are far more intimate than just fucking.

SH: Do you find it hard to date in porn?

AJ Bailey: Absolutely. It’s easy to get laid but it’s not easy to date. That’s just the way it is. We live in a really conservative country no matter what anybody says about it. It’s just the way it is. Some people can handle it, some people can’t. That’s OK. It’s not something that’s easy to do anyway. It takes a really strong person to be able to deal with that. I get it, I understand.

SH: Who’s your favorite among the Vivid girls?

AJ Bailey: I couldn’t pick a favorite. I’ve only met them really just once, each of them. But everybody has been really, really nice and welcoming. They all had a nice word for me, and I didn’t feel like an outsider or the “new girl” at all. But I really don’t know them enough so I really couldn’t say.

SH: Which of them are you most attracted to that you’d like to work with?

AJ Bailey: I think I would like to work with Hannah Hilton, just because I’ve known her for so long. Actually, the very first shoot she was ever at I was there. So I’ve known her for years. When I first met her she wasn’t doing anything. I don’t even think she was doing solo masturbation. I think she was just doing stills. But I think working with her would be fun.

SH: Where do you see yourself in the future?

AJ Bailey: I don’t know. My first movie just came out, it’s getting really good reviews, it’s going really well. I got really fortunate with Vivid right away. It’s been really great. I’ve been getting a good response so I think the sky’s the limit for me in the adult industry. I do like it a lot. I think it’s a great job. I love to perform for the camera and I love to meet fans. I think I can go pretty far with this and I look forward to that. The day that I don’t enjoy it then that’s the day that it doesn’t happen anymore. But I don’t see that in the near future.
